Puma boris becker winner (not super) info needed from anyone (hancu, breakpoint ...)

Semi-Pro
I was using an Estusa PBP for a long time. I just loved the racquet. Recently, no thanks to me, it was stolen (along with my dunlop max 200g) from my car.

I was just considering buying a puma boris becker winner from a guy here in CA (since i didn't find any estusa pbp's). but i just wanted to know how it compares to the power beam pro.

the puma BB winner (the light grey racquet with some red on the upper hoop of the head) just says "graphite composite". the estusa pbp has a 80/20 graphite/fiberglass composition, while the other puma racquet, the puma boris becker SUPER (the one which is very similar in appearance to the estusa pbp) says on the racquet head: "graphite 50/50 fiberglass".

so, my question is what is the composition of the puma boris becker WINNER ? and does it play similar/better/worse than the estusa power beam pro ?

many thanks in advance.

If you're looking for a fun stick to play around with, the Winner plays like the Super but is more flexible. I belive it's a tad lighter too.
For serious play, I wouldn't rely on a 20+ year old racquet.

If you love the shape, look into some used Estusas which are going to be much fresher, or import some from Europe as I think they are still made.

I used a Puma Becker Winner and Super for a long time maybe I can help. The Super was 50/50 fibreglass-graphite while the Winner was mostly fibreglass. I would almost guess 70/30. The Winner is heaver and more flexable and not nearly as powerful. The Super isn't stiff at all but it feels much stiffer than the Winner. Great baseline racket and pretty good for serves but the Super is the much superior racket for volleys. I never could get the little screw thing at the bottom to work on the Winner but on the Super it worked just fine and made a difference. I liked the Super better than the Winner but if I could find either racket now for a good price I would play with them in a heartbeat. Hopes this helps.

blaacksheeep,

thanks a lot for the info. was really helpful. so am i right in assuming that the super is closer to the power beam pro (estusa) than the winner ?

The Estusa Power beam is a direct copy of the Super without the adjustment screw. The Estusa PBB is stiffer than the Power Beam Pro.

I think the main difference between the Super and the Winner, aside from the composition, is that the Winner is head heavy which is better for the ground game.

thank you, f1 tech.

this then brings me back to my original question. which of the two is closer in play to the estusa PBP (power beam pro) ? i assume the super is closer to the estusa. am i right ?
