I tested a lot of rackets the last months and years!
I played Blades v9, 98 and 100er the last month. Great! I thought i have found my new racket...

But now i have found the magic stick! I will play on clay this next summer and thats why i tested a pure aero 2023.

The Pure Aero 2023 300g, 320g swingweight with 2 g lead at 12 oclock.
I strung the racket with RPM Blast 17 at 24/23 kg.

I have never played better tennis! Best flat serve and best double handed backhand of my whole career!
But its so crazy, its the first Babolat racket i can play good volleys with! incredible! I cant miss any volley... the first time in my life!

The sweetspot is soooo big, i cant miss and thats why i put away my new Blades v9...

I love this racket with RPM Blast, do you have also other string setups to test?

Thanks a lot and enjoy this magic stick!

How does it play compared to the 2019 version?

Every few days someone here finds their magic stick. For me it was the Wilson Ultra Tour found in September 2022 - I am just not able to move away from it.

Some great racket related advice @graycrait gave me was - "Find your racket (and some copies) and play with those for the next decade"

Def can relate to this. I bought 3 SW102, cut them down to 27, and had some helping matching the specs. After one day of trying the modified racquets bought 3 more and 8 sets of grommets.

This literally is my dream racket. I wish Wilson release this racket with 27 inch so I can think myself as wannabe Agassi :D

Dont wait for Wilson - cut it down and make it yourself. Life is too short to wait for others to make your dreams a reality.

You’re making me miss my Ultra Tour v2.

It is amazingly honestly. The highest of high quality balls that thunder through the court when the correct stroke is put on the ball and the weakest of nothing balls (although the K 6.1 Team is the king of amazing feeling nothing balls) when insufficient effort is put it.

The greatest tennis coach and the greatest feedback device. Never once have I blamed any of my errors on the Ultra Tour.

Ive given 5 away as gifts to people who could appreciate them (and even received 1 as a gift to regiveaway) - although no one ever :-D switched to it - and probably wouldn't have bought it anyway even at huge discounts.

Best to not listen to almost everyone, especially not random online tennis reviewers - and make your own decision what you own "Magic Stick" and "Magic String Combo" is.

I'm currently testing the PA 2023 as well and can absolutely confirm the sound issues Tennis Guy reports in his video. But so far I have no other issues with the high pitched vibrations the PA produces. Yes, the sound can be irritating but when I get "into the groove" with the PA I don't recognize it anymore. The advantages are too good to be bothered too much with the ping-sound. But if you are someone who hates these high pitched ping-sounds, the PA 2023 probably isn't for you.
The vibrations from the PA actually remind me of those the Blade 98L v8 produces. The relatively tight stringbed also feels quite similar to the Blade's. You can hear and feel lots of vibrations with the PA 2023, but on the other hand you also have a lot of control due to these vibrations. The sweetspot is very well defined and also noticeably smaller than on the current Pure Drive for example, which can feel quite mushy in comparison. The PA is kind of a weird mixture of control, lots of vibrations and spin, but it somehow works. And the consistency on groundstrokes, especially on forehands, as soon you get in the zone with the PA, can be quite mesmerizing. In yesterday's doubles I had the feeling of being unable to miss a forehand return. Our opponents at one point said "ah, he's still human. He can actually miss a return" and I responded "that's the racquet, not me" :)
This PA release is a perfect example of how an imperfect racquet can be quite tempting.

so you are losing control when you hit certain spots ??

No I wouldn't define this as losing control but you "definitely know when hitting outside the sweetspot", which primarily results in noticeable vibrations. The stability is very good on the PA, so I didn't have the feeling of losing control even when hitting near the frame. I had practically no balls flying long or hitting the fence, something that happens with the PD a lot more.
But hitting outside the sweetspot "sounds and feels punishing" - at least a lot more punishing than with the PD.
To me the feel and level of control is relatively similar to the Blade (v8) but the Blade has worse stability without customization in my opinion. With the Blade hitting outside the sweetspot results in a low powered shot, often not even clearing the net. That didn't happen to me with the PA. The power level feels like being in between the Blade and the Pure Drive. Just enough power to clear the net in practically any situation but not as much power as to having balls hitting the fence (from the baseline).

Tbh, I really liked it as well but I had 1 problem I couldn't get over. I have a 1hbh and the thicker beam or something else I couldn't put my finger on, was not working on that side. A shame because everything else was great. My main is the PA98 and I don't have trouble on my 1hbh.

so those off center hits were creating bad vibrations that was hurting your arm badly ??

I hit with a OHBH as well, can understand your perspective, but so far I can handle it. Have been getting used to hitting the backhand with 100sq inch frames the past few months.

Are you searching for negatives? :D And no - those vibrations weren't hurting my arm badly, at least so far. Vibrations coming from a racquet are still a bit of a mystery to me, even after testing almost every well known frame and string on the market. Because some vibrations can irritate your arm, in my case especially certain tendons in the upper arm and shoulder, while other vibrations can simply "tell you where the sweetspot is" without producing any unpleasant results. And whether vibrations are painful for you or not then probably depends on your string choice, your string tension, how the string fits the frame, what vibration frequency the combination of string and frame produces, how stiff the frame is, and so on....
So far the PA hasn't been an arm destroyer, no. The lowered stiffness of the PA frame in comparison to a PD should lower the arm-destroying-potential, as well. As written above, to me the PA 2023 has a comparable feel to a Blade v8 98L. Not "ultra plush" but also not "unbearably stiff". You need a certain tightness and vibration feedback to feel good control when hitting. But I'm also still experimenting with different strings, tensions....next up will be Pro Line 2 18g to reduce the swingweight a bit and have more space between the strings for a potentially bigger sweetspot and slightly softer stringbed. The spacing of the strings is so narrow that 1.25mm strings feel a bit too thick in this frame for my taste.
