Pure Aero 98 Club

Got mine at 286 unstrung swing weight (stoked) and 305 static.

String up with rpm at 55/53.

I usually play with 325-330 SW strung and gotta say this thing does not feel like it needs any more swing weight than what it has stock.

there’s so much beef in the hoop that Even with 1g added to 12 it feels completely different and unnecessary.

What's the deal with grommet availability? Is it just that popular that TW can't keep stock? I'm kinda bummed I can't get replacement grommets until June unless I buy from another source than TW

Has anyone here switched from the ezone 98 to the aero 98 that hits predominantly flat groundstrokes? If so, how did it work out?
Aero 98 wants spin to work . Ezone wants you to drive through the ball. But it can be fixed some what by strings.
Aero98 with 1.30mm round strings turns it into ezone.
1.15mm hyper g at 40 pounds turns ezone into an aero

No string will turn an Aero in to an EZone and vice versa, just as no offroad wheels will turn your Volkswagen into a pick-up.
The Aero98 is a spin frame in the first place and balls will sail if you just hit flat bombs.

That doesn't mean you cannot flatten out, but you should at least be a versatile player
If you like flat drive, you are better off with the Strike 98

Having tried hyper g in the ezone it hasn’t given me the spin of an aero to be honest with you. Strings are very important and sometimes overlooked because of the racket but I would be very surprised if that is too be the case (although I maybe wrong with that). Aero has a ton of spin and produces a heavy ball pretty easy which is why I am curious to see if other flat hitters have transitioned over to this racket successfully. I get the feeling the strike maybe the one to look into instead as it may suit a more linear swing path (going off what you have said above and others have said previously).

curious too

curious too. wanna put on confidential mains and hpg round crosses at 42# when strings are delivered

I tried zero @ 42 and didn’t like it. Made the frame felt flimsy. It felt better at 48/46 with same string. Could be just me, but wasn’t a fan and I like other frames with low tension in that 44/42 yet.

Mine came with Hyper G 16 at 50lbs. I hit a few balls and it felt surprisingly comfortable. I did feel slight forearm tightness afterwards even though I only hit a few shots. That's a string / tension I'd never normally use, but I'm not sure if it's even worth taking any risks with this frame

Came back to tennis last summer after a 15 year break, been using my old 2003 Pure Controls. They're beautiful but want something that gives a little more.

No demos and don't want to keep overthinking so I've ordered two PA98s, one with Hyper G and one with Tour Bite, both at 48lbs. Looking forward to taking them for a spin.

I've now used it for a full set and my arm/ elbow is fine. It hits with lots of spin and power on my forehand, but highlights my deficiencies on my backhand. I was getting almost no power on my backhand as I hit the sweetspot less frequently.

It's an interesting frame, but I'm not sure It gives me more than other rackets I've been hitting with recently.
