Pure Aero 98 vs Head Boom Pro 24

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to decide between two frames and wanted to get some input from players who have spent time with them:

  • Head Boom Pro 2024
  • Babolat Pure Aero 98 (2023)

If I match them to the same swingweight, which one would be easier to use overall in terms of playability, forgiveness, and handling?

I’ve heard the Pure Aero 98 can be demanding, while the Boom Pro is supposed to be more user-friendly, but I’d like to hear some first-hand experiences.
Maybe is possible to find one boom pro at 307 - 308g unstrung and that should be easier to play.

Any thoughts on comfort, spin, and how they compare when dialed in to equal swingweight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I actually settled on these two racquets as possible replacements for my Prince Tour 100 310s because I was seeking easier access to power. I never would've considered the Boom Pro but the specs are interesting with its thin beam and balance.

I ultimately went with the Pure Aero because if it didn't work out, I at least have a collectible, a "generational" racquet. The racquet measured at 307 grams, 293 SW unstrung (323.5 strung, measured on a Head machine) and I have had around 15 hours with it and no arm issues so far but that's my only reservation with it: long term arm health. It's noticeably stiffer despite the RA and has that Babolat "feel" but less "raw", but the spin, power you can tap into is insane. I have black VS mains right now and based on where I'm hitting (higher on the stringbed), I'll likely add weight to 10 and 2. Without any lead, the racquet swings very fast, faster than my Princes with roughly the same SW.

My previous racquets have been 310 mm and 310 grams and I don't doubt I could play well with the Boom, especially since I hit higher where the racquet is widened.
