Pure Aero VS (PAVS) or Prince Textreme Tour 310

Hey folks,

Love to see if anyone can compare Pure Aero VS (PAVS) and Prince Textreme Tour 310 against each other! Primarily interested in how they compare in power, control, comfort and spin.

I couldn't find any related discussing in the other threads. Hopefully not a question that has already been discussed. somewhere else.

Power: About the same, maybe a bit higher in the TT
Control: VS is more controlled. But the TT is still quite controlled
Comfort: TT is more comfortable. Both are crisp-feeling but the VS has kinda a buzzy, hollow feel and the TT is more clean. Lots of accounts of arm-sensitive people feeling tenderness with the VS.
Spin: VS hits wicked spin but you have to work for it with big, full strokes. Ball comes off pretty straight. TT the spin is easier to come by (pattern more open around the edges)

I owned and played with both. Liked the VS for the ball it produced. Low and spinny. But sold it because it was rough on my arm. My friend has used it for a year or so now and has also been complaining of tenderness. TT was also great. I don't know why I switched. Think I just felt like I wasn't getting the pop I wanted on my serves/was breaking strings really quickly. Probably still should have stopped switching at that point but here we are, 15 or so racquets later.

Never looked at the TT but just read the description of it and from what you're saying, I am really curious now. Currently on my racquet search for a more powerful but lighter stick compared to my current modded VCore 95. I am currently trying the Pure Strike VS and waiting for the Pure Strike Tour and Speed Pro 2022 to come in the mail. I seriously may add the TT to the list since I was also looking at the PAVS.

I actually play with the VCore 95 right now--though I went on a journey to other sticks (Blade Pro, Gravity Pro, Diadem FS Tour, Solinco Whiteout, Dunlop CX 200 Tour) before ending right back on the VCore 95. Didn't like the Pure Strike Tour at all (which was surprising, since I played with the Strike for a few years). Can't speak to the latest Speed Pro but I didn't love the previous one. (My actual next stick is the ZUS Custom 100 70RA, which I demoed and thought was incredible. Have one in the production.)

The TT to me was in the class of frames that you can just pick up and hit out with. Dependable and reliable and easy to use.

Oh nice! Unfortunately stock the VC95 did nothing for me, it was too light and too under powered for my liking. I do hit with heavy top spin for most of my game and it was great for that but I just could not get any penetrating power when needed. I also for the life of me couldn't customize it to my liking, tried many different setups and I was not connecting with it. The slight bump in weight and swing weight with the PSVS I really enjoyed, from the first hit I felt connected to it and I had fun swinging it around. I am really looking forward to the Pure Strike Tour as spec wise it sits right in between my modded VCore 95 and Pure Strike VS. I'm also transitioning my style of play to an aggressive baseliner so a racquet with more penetrating power to end the points is a must.

TT is great. By the way, there's a new model coming out supposedly this Friday so you can check that out. Supposedly a bit more comfort that current model. I would say current model has nice solid/crisp feel so it's not uncomfortable. Just depends on how arm sensitive folks are. For me I almost get tenderness but not yet. lol

Oh really?! If it's the one with the new white paintjob I'll definitely have to give it a go, it's beautiful! I believe they even have a Tour 98 coming out but it's a 16x19 instead of the 16x18 of the 100.

Have heard the PSVS is great but anemic--a platform frame for sure.

I added a leather grip to my VC95 and found that just fine after that. Also string a bit lower than usual since control isn't an issue, which I think makes the power pretty solid, especially on serves. But I did move on because I wanted a bit more forgiveness and spin. Still, I have it around for when I need to settle down and play my best tennis.

Well, here's hoping the Pure Strike Tour works for you. I don't know why I really hated my demo but I did. Feel just wasn't there and the ball came off strange. Could have been partly due to the strings, though my friends all liked it a lot so who knows.

(The real best option is the ZUS, however! Cruel world but so it goes.)

Yup, referring to the white-ish pain job. Someone posted the catalog which shows the pain job and high level specs for the new TT. The Tour 98 might be a good fit for you given the other rackets you tried.

@Jingo never heard of ZUS. What makes it so special? 70RA sounds pretty intense. How would you compare with PAVS and TT?

The ZUS feel is just plain amazing (this coming from someone who has tried most everything that has come out the past three years). It's difficult to describe but I guess you could say it's crisp and sharp but without any buzz (I have a very sensitive arm so I notice this quickly). Also amazingly stable for its weight (I went back and forth between it and my leather gripped Gravity Pros--stability was somehow about the same even though we're talking ~30 grams less weight.) The 70 RA score is misleading--this only refers to the flex measured around the throat and doesn't take other flex/dampening into consideration. It's carbon fiber, fiberglass, and foam-filled--the latter two do plenty of work dealing with vibrations. I also demoed the 62RA and--while it was much flexier--I didn't feel like it was easier on the arm than the 70RA.

Compared to the VS, I'd say the ZUS is much much more comfortable, has a bit more power, the same control, and a bit less spin.

Compared to the TT, the ZUS is more comfortable, has a bit more power, better control, and a bit less spin.

The big difference maker for me is the feel--it's super connected. Racquet disappears. Also worth noting that the ZUS is much more forgiving in terms of sweetspot.

It's also a custom frame so you order the specs you want and don't worry about wacky QC and mods--but that goes without saying. Only downside for me is the price, which is a real downside and is the only reason I don't recommend it across the board. At least they have a demo program!

(For anyone interested in the ZUS, the Diary of a Racketaholic thread has mooned over it for the past few months--plus I know there's a ZUS thread around there somewhere.)

Can’t comment on TT but the PAVS is an amazing offensive racquet with a perfect combination of spin, power, control. However, it has subpar feel (as mentioned previously, hollow is the right word for it), and tough on elbows/wrists. Feel and comfort is a very individual thing so I would still recommend trying it, the racquet hits a great ball.

PAVS is 16x20 98" headsize; not sure re relative string spacing of the three, but I would've thought 'standard' PA with 16x19 & 100" head was a better option to compare with TT100?

Noob here. What makes it so different?

@jdaununder2 TT310 is a pretty controlled 100 even though it’s a 16x18 pattern and a lot more comfortable than Pure Aero. It has spin but not as much spin as a Pure Aero. I think both comparison make sense depending on what you want more.
