Pure Drive 2020

Hey, So with the bump back in the release from Sept 1 to Sept 24, I haven't received 'em yet. I'm hoping within the next week or so. I did hear that I'll be getting 3 demos to pass out and get as many people trying as possible. Where are you located?

All I can say is I think it is an incredible update. Improved feel, explosive pop. I'll have more to follow.
Incredible update [emoji23] it's a tennis racquet and another 3 year on schedule update from Babolat. Then again I don't sell them, I just hit with Babolats but don't have to have the "shiny newest ones"

Incredible to me would be a frame that prevents any errors whatsoever and only hit winners. That would be incredible. [emoji6]

So I am seeing that this has the same string pattern as the 2018. Does this turn anyone else off? I still use my 2015 PD because it has more control, and I don't like the loopiness and lack of control of the super open string patterns.

Fedace, weren’t you the one advocating the Pure Aero Plus?
Nadalgirl, you are the one that couldn't handle the heavy SW and kept on asking for Lower SW like in the 310 range for the pure aero plus, i remember reading it. so many times.............lol

I don’t see why you wouldn’t want a high swingweight for the plus model. Extra power/plow on serve and yeah maybe a more sluggish groundstroke but learn how to handle the weight and it’s a breeze.

for all of you that use regular length, this doesn't concern you. with Extended length, if you have a racket with high SW, you will get late on most of your shots. you can't correct it by practicing or learning to handle it. i found out i can't learn it

Only the standard Pure Drive will be launching in September. the rest of the Pure Drive line will launch in early 2021.

Thanks,

Hey! Hope all's going well. I'm keeping my eyes out for a potential playtest of the 2020 here. Would be fun maybe doing a joint review should we get the chance.

I’m surprised they increased the price, granted it’s only 10 dollars but still why change it? There’s no real big name to market behind the pure drive.

when I bought the new PAVS.. the 3/8" measured out be a 4-1/2" grip..

I've got 2 Pure Aero VS in 4 1/4. From my experience, the 4 1/4 in the Pure Aero VS feels the same as the new Pure Drive in 4 1/4 for what it's worth. Hope it helps.
Same experience for me as well. PAVS and new PD 4 1/4 feels same size. It feels like a correct size 2. I normally use size 3 in Babolat and Head and the 4 1/4 is noticeable smaller

There is no question in my mind that Babolat makes the best tweeners. Can’t wait to demo the new Pure Drive, I wonder how it compares to the outgoing model.

I am normally in between 4 3/8 and 4 1/2 in old APD line. But as I switched to PAVS I bought them in 4 1/2 grip and honestly I find it as absolute perfect size with TW Leather 1.3. I thought it is not bigger than 4 1/2 grip in APD which I used.
Note, I talk about PAVS 2017, not a new version

Thank you TW!!

Received my demos today. Can’t wait to get it on the court. Like every where else. COVID shut down all the courts. As if that wasn’t enough. Now smoke blankets the entire SF Bay Area of unhealthy air. [emoji3525]
I can wait a few more days....

The pearlescent blue PJ is beautiful. The blue Xcel string that came strung is a perfect match.

I got a 3/8 grip. Just like my new PA VS ‘20 the grip measured close to 1/2”
And the other demo a 1/4” grip measured a 16th” larger.

3/8” grip:

1/4” grip:

I've started replacing all Babolat grips with Sytenc Team (or Feel? I think they changed the name) or leather, I find Syntec Pro too thick
