Pure Drive experts, I need your help (pics included)

So, I bought a racquet from the auction site a few days ago---my racquet of choice, the Pure Drive so-called "swirly" edition. Now, this is my racquet of choice because I believe it's more solid than the later Pure Drives.

Anyway, so the racquet comes in, and I notice it is playing much more differently than the Pure Drive "Swirly"s I'm used to. At first, I think it might be a fake. Then after comparing it with a PD "Swirly" that I already have, I realize that it's not a fake---it is simply a different racquet.

This is what confuses me. Now, I'm no PD history expert, which is why I'm enlisting your guys' help, but I always thought there was only one kind of PD "Swirly". It seems I was wrong.

The racquet I got from the Bay, the one that plays differently and more hollow-feeling and a little more powerful, after close examination, is the Pure Drive Team Plus "Swirly", whereas my other "Swirly" is simply listed as a Pure Drive.

So, Pure Drive history experts, enlighten me on the history of the "Swirly" Pure Drive, since apparently I had no idea there was more than one. They're the same color, and from a distance, they look exactly the same, but when you look close, there are only two differences (with the exception of the one being 27.5 inches):

1) The Pure Drive "Swirly" I already had has "Drive Series" on the hoop around 5:00, while the one I just got has "Pure Team" written in the same spot.

2) The original has "Pure Drive" written on the side of the throat, while the one I just got says "Pure Drive Team" on the side of the throat.

Now, from what I understand, the craze from racquets used to be (I'm not sure about anymore) that "Team" versions of racquets were generally lighter, more powerful, and sometimes more hollow-feeling. It seems this was also the case with the Pure Drive "Swirly"

--Is there anyone here who can confirm this or give me a PD "Swirly" history lesson? Or at least any thoughts?

Here are some pics, first of the original, than of the newer racquet. The quality is shoddy b/c I took them with my camera phone:

There is plenty of info on here from some good posters but they are exactly the same they just added the word team around 2001.It was before the other companies added team versions of their frames and they were not sold at the same time.
I don't think the one without team was officially sold in the US.

I have three off these racquets...two exactly as you have listed. All have the same spec's. One other I have, as you stated Drive Series @ 5:00 and @ 8:00 it states "Demo Racquet". I found that a little odd? The plus version will feel more powerful. Are all your racquets strung with same strings & tension?

I'm no expert but know pretty well about these.:) There are indeed 2 versions o the 'swirly' PD, one with 'drive series' painted at the edge of the throat and one with 'pure team'. Both are exactly the same racquets, same specs, same paintjob with the only difference being the 2 words and the 'team' added below 'pure drive' on the side, and play absolutely the same. the 'drive series' swirly PD is the earlier version and Babolat released the 'pure team' swirly PD like a couple years later. Both the 'drive series' and 'pure team' came in both regular (27 inches) and '+' lengths (27.5 inches).

Hotrocks, the one with 'demo racquet' is simply a demo version of the 'swirly', I have came across a sample like that before as well.:)

Marrat- What do you suppose an Original(1994) Pure Drive in 9+ shape is worth?
