Pure Drive Grommets

Hi there everyone,

In the past I played with the 2012 Pure Drive. I've since switched, but looking to buy a pair from a friend.

I used to use the AeroDrive Grommets at the time because they would last longer.

Question: I understand Babolat changed the string pattern on the 2015 Pure Drive, to the those grommets will not fit a 2012 Pure Drive, however it appears that the 2017 (newest) has the same string pattern.

Will the new Pure Drive grommets fit the 2012 Pure Drive? If not, will current Aero Drive grommets fit?

No. The PD changed the "mains skipped" from 8 to 7&9. At that time the APD still was skipping 8. Now the PDs skip 7&9 and so does the Pure Aero. Not sure if the PD and Pure Aero are grommet compatible. TW still has some "Babolat AeroPro Drive Lite White Grommet" but you need to ask them if these will fit the PD 2012. I think they will, but they are white.

APD grommets fit 2012 Pure Drive, its all I use now.

Which aeropro drive grommets fit the 2012 PD? The 2010 GT or the 2013 ones?

All the APD stringing instructions says skip hole 8 for mains. If your PD 2102 stringing instructions says to skip 8, then any APD grommet set should fit. The delineation is PD vs PD FSI. See post #3.

I think you still can find 2012 black pure drive grommets

The 2009/10/12 and the 2012/13/14 Pure Drives can use the AeroPro Drive Grommets #900021

The 2015/16/17 use the same set of grommets since Babolat changes the paintjob and sometimes the frames every 3rd year.

The 2009/10/12 have the same paintjob and the 2012/13/14 have the same paintjob, but the 2009-2014 frames all can use the AeroPro Drive #900021 grommets with the solid bumper guard shown in the pictures I have posted.
