Pure Drive GT Roddick v. Aeropro Drive Cortex

To people who have used both:

I have the Aeropro Drive Cortex and am looking for a heavier racquet that is more stable, and was wondering how the Pure Drive GT Roddick compares to it.

Thanks

Yeah, but it just doesn't feel right to me.

Would adding more lead in the handle than in the hoop fix this? I don't know how to explain it, but with lead at 3 and 9 it just feels wrong.

Try moving the lead around. That's what I did, and I eventually found a spot where I liked it. But imo, the GT is way more stable than the APD.

I lead up my APDC with 10 grams to 3 & 9, and 2 grams to the handle. It plays great. Before I found it a bit unstable on forehands.

Ive got a APDC and a Pure Drive Team which other posters have commented plays very similar to the PDGT. After playing a couple of times I felt the APDC could do with more heft so I placed 9.5gms at the 12 o'clock position on the inside hoop and counter balanced with 2.5gms at the butt end under the flap as per the Nadal threads on lead customization. I found this setup worked great for me, liked the feel better and more stability.

I found the PD Team is better for serves and flat hitting while the APDC is better for spin production. After adding lead I found the APDC to be a very close second for serves.

I played for almost 1 year and a half with the APDCs and found them great- not after 2 weeks of the PDR GT, I feel like my shoulder is coming undone. Its crazy- I play great with it but the next day I can hardly move my should at all. Now I'm back in the hunt for new sticks...

Demoing both of them right now... the pdr gt feels better than the apdc in terms of power and well...power. I didnt find any real spin potential or control. If you're looking for a heavier more stable stick...then the pdr gt is the stick for you...just watch out for arm problems after a couple of days:(

I used the GT with a multi at 60# and it was awesome. Zero arm problems.

I still prefer the APDC. I bought a used APDC off of here that was leaded up in the handle and I think 12 o clock, and it was a little messed up for me. I hit much better with the standard unleaded :) APDC right now. I actually hit harder and with more spin this way. Just what works for me.

APD just suited my game more. It was a little better for heavy topspin and a 2 handed backhand for me. I'd say it is a personal thing. At the end of the day it got too light for me and I went with a racquet that has a higher Swing weight in the Radical. I am still hitting the best strokes with it so I'm happy. I would demo both the PD and the APDC and see what you think.
