Pure drive stiffness versus the aeropro drive stiffness?

TW has the stiffness rating for the Pure drive as 70, while the aeropro drive is rated at 67. Has anyone played with both of these rackets and can tell me which is stiffer. After talking to Babolat, they seem to disagree with TWs stiffness rating on these rackets and I would agree with them from what I am hearing on feed back. I need to demo the aeropro drive but haven't gotten around to it yet. Babolat was kind enough to send me the specs on all their rackets and they have the aeropro drive rated stiffer. I understand that stiffness is perceived differently for everybody, I myself think the pure drive plus is more flexible than the rated 70 it gets. Any thoughts on this?

Hello Marius,

Oh boy, have to look in the archives for this fax/email. I may have thrown it away. I was a babolat rep player last year and asked them for specs on their rackets to relay to some of my players. Babolat was great to work with and sent me this fax/email last december. Alas, I was forced to switch to Wilson in january and have been playing with the Wilson n61 95. For what it is worth, Wilson is also another great company to rep for. The n61 95 is a great racket. But I also miss the pure drive plus. Both rackets have positives about them.......am I the only one who would love to play with two rackets in a match, serve with one and ground stroke with another? Afraid I might get laughed off the court.

that'll be pretty darn funny.

Server: hold on, uh, when i hit my serve, can you umm... not hit the ball for 30 seconds when i change racquets? lol.

I've played both and the Aeropro does seem a little bit stiffer. It didn't seem like there was a huge amount in it though. They're both really nice rackets.

I just got done demoing the Aeropro and Volkl cat v-8 engine, the Aero IMO is not as stiff as the Pure Drive. The Aero hits groundies pretty well but volleys average and serves average. I did like it better that the Pure drive. I just ordered the Cat 8 V-engine and think it is, for me at least, a much better racket than either of the Babs
It serves better (Cat), volleys way better, hits groundies as well and is way more comfortable. For me it is also a better stick than the 03 Tour which I just sold on the TW boards. Demoing is the key.
