Pure Drive Swingweight Question

I just got two Pure Drive Tour Plus sticks that come in unstrung 303 & 304 swingweight. Is that high? That’s the lowest they had...the rest were all around 310!

Roughly how many extra SW units are added with a 16g poly vs 17 poly in the racquet?

I’m a 5.0 player but normally like just shy of 300 SW unstrung. These hit ok but it was too hefty with a leather grip. Put the original grip back on & it was definitely better but now it’s in my head that the SW is too much to handle & I should try to get different ones (a task that seems impossible as no one has SW machines or stock of that frame).

Extended racquets usually have higher swingweights, just how they are. Also a 17g poly will lower swingweight probably 2-3 from what I feel going between 1.30 and 1.25. You can also counter weight from what I hear to lower swingweight, though that’s if the SW is from balance.

305 is a normal SW for a 27.5in racket. A regular Pure Drive should be around 295 SW unstrung.

Stringing will add apx 30pts of SW. So you extended length racket will be around 335.

It's so funny to me that good players here feel the need to explain that they don't suck just because they use a sub-330 SW racquet

TT really does make a guy self conscious about his small swingweight, I'll tell you hwhat.
he’s talking unstrung SW. I don’t think many of us like 330 SW in an unstrung racket.

SW is around 310 and for the plus it is like 324
It's not under 330 strung..
This guy is saying 324 and TW posted 328 as their average, I assume OP's is slightly less than that because he intentionally selected racquets with a lower unstrung SW

but again this is like not the point of my post, I was more trying to say "OP it's okay, I don't think you're bad just because your racquet has a huge swingweight" than I was trying to get into a semantic argument about the swingweight of PDT+s

I thought strings added about 15-20 SW pts. But I’m not 100% sure. I haven’t known anyone to measure the SW of an unstrung racquet. You could string it (if you have a stringing machine) and then measure it. Since you use the heaviest PD, I assume you’re wanting the highest SW posdible? So, go with 16 or 15L string.

I just did it yesterday, 310 SW unstrung and 340 SW on my angells TC97.

22-35 sw points depending on gauge, the number will go higher for extended length racquets as the strings are much further away from the 10 cm point from the buttcap.

Not gauge as much as material.. and only 22 swingweight increase is very rare. 30 is very normal. I have a swingweight machine

If you need to keep the SW down due to strings, try [1] using the thinnest poly gauge you can tolerate or [2] hybrid with poly mains and SG crosses. SG is less massive than poly at the same gauge.
