Pure drive woofer grommet vs pre-woofer grommet

Hi guys i got one of the earlier gen pure drive.. one with pre-woofer grommets. I was something of anyone could tell me how would the feel/playability change if i change the grommet to the woofer ones?

Thanks in advance (contemplating whether i should update the grommet, as if i take the current grommet off i won't be able to put it back without great difficulty.. just want to know if i should do it or not)

Believe the drill pattern is different, woofer will not fit pre-woofers

You probably have the PD that skips 8T and 8H. I believe that you can find grommet sets that pertain to the old stringing pattern. The current pattern skips 7 & 9 hoop and throat. From hearsay comments, woofers seem to yield a little more power and comfort. Whether you need that in the PD depends on you.

Thanks for that. Although its comfortable enough I can certainly do with more comfort .. but not sure if i can cope with more power

The only pure drive string pattern that comes even close to the original pre woofers is the current one, it looks very open and similar to original. Maybe even a match. But the only woofer grommets i believe that actually do anything are the ones in the bridge. So if you want to try i would suggest try just swapping the bridge grommets for woofer ones if they fit, and seeing how that feels.

You r correct.. I've got the 2018 pure drive in my hand.. and the drill pattern looks very very close.. could even be a perfect match

I know this is an old thread but do you think the 2018 pure drive bumperguard will fit the original pre-woofer (fognini) pure drive?
I'd really like to have a replacement for a worn original pure drive one.

It's somewhat comparable to adding powerpads. Where it creates slightly longer mains, which in theory has a slightly bigger sweetspot.

Imo woofer system really doesn't do much at all, but i think it looks cool though
