thought the exact same thing.thought this was a japanese catalog until I realized it's just the stylizing of 'Strike'
Yup and it’s not a good thing…thought the exact same thing.
Thanks Blade X. Thumbs down on the pj. For some reason, Babalot thinks that it doesn’t matter what the aesthetics look like for this one I would probably be using a pure strike if it wasn’t so white. The most powerful among control oriented sticks is 2-3 months away launch. PJ will remain as minimal as possible.
The most recent VS is an awesome paint job! I was hoping Babolat would tweak that one.Literally could've just cut and pasted the VS paint job & everyone would be happy.
Logo is decent, the overall lack of design is just so underwhelming. It’s not a whiteout, so it might as well be purposeful with having orangeTerrible just why? Weak cosmetic and Bag

I get that they are trying to be consistent but I’m pretty disappointed if they just added 2 orange stripes after coming up with the cool VS paint with Black as major color. I think it would be eye catching to have a nice Orange (major) and black / white minor color. At some point the racquet needs to catch your eye (and of course play well)Logo is decent, the overall lack of design is just so underwhelming. It’s always soo annoying that playability counts.I get that they are trying to be consistent but I’m pretty disappointed if they just added 2 orange stripes after coming up with the cool VS paint with Black as major color. The current strike is far from boring - current bag is great too!I get that the strike has always kind of been tame with visuals, but…
How did they make a tasteful and brilliant VS cosmetic and then say well that was fun. here’s another boring ass strike!
Awesome post! Love the direct comparison. The Pure Strike is a pretty good looking racquet whichever generation you choose!! I've been playing the 2nd gen PS 98 16x19 which may be the least attractive of them all - but I do really like the way it plays.
Babolat's recent cosmetics / design have been EXCELLENT (looing at the PA 23, PS VS, and latest PD) and I'm hoping the next Pure Strike is no less. I do like the black and red, but white looks great too.
@kkm I too like the woofer throat of the PO17 and on mine have even taken to adding powerpads at the first outer grommet on the throat.
Below are Gen 1, 2, 3 and Pure Strike VS. Maybe the next one will be all red with Black and white stripes? My biggest ask would be an extended / plus version. They seem to produce so many other iterations but why no extended version. Personally it is the biggest thing missing from the lineup.
The V3 is the best white pj but I still like the black with atomic red. The racquet however has never really played that well to me.I just did a direct comparison of the Pure Strike Paint from: V1, V2, V3, Wimbledon, current VS, and potential V4.
I have to say the current VS paint is by far the best, then V1, followed by Wimbledon, V4, V3, V2.
I would like to see a Strike VS Tour version like the Gen 2 had.Personally it is the biggest thing missing from the lineup.
Lead tape.I would like to see a Strike VS Tour version like the Gen 2 had.
Catalogs have been sent to some retailers.Yoyo where did you find this??
It is growing on me…..I wish they would reverse the orange and whiteI’m the minority, but this is the Strike PJ I like the most
I think that the Radicals own that trade dress - if not literally, at least in consumers’ mindsets. People would be thinking that the Strikes are Radicals…It is growing on me…..I wish they would reverse the orange and white
I think this is a good point but the side white stripes would define it as a Babolat. Also, Wilson, Babolat, and Yonex all use a similar blue color (at least recently) for their power racquets.I think that the Radicals own that trade dress - if not literally, at least in consumers’ mindsets. People would be thinking that the Strikes are Radicals…
The Strikes are red, not orange though. There is an immense difference in a vibrant red and the classic orange of the radicals. I really like the orange that Head used in the prior iteration. Not crazy about the orange and navy.I think that the Radicals own that trade dress - if not literally, at least in consumers’ mindsets. People would be thinking that the Strikes are Radicals…
I and many others are not crazy about most of these latest takes. Many of them are fairly low on what I call, for lack of a better phrase, "tastefulness quotient", ie. design that uses a calm-enough primary colorway with the right amount of theming and accenting, to create a look that is, micro opinions and tastes aside, simply more pleasing to the eye than it isn't. Examples: Auxetic Gravity, Pure Strike VS, VCore Pro, v13 Pro Staff, Dunlop CX Limited Edition, Prince Phantoms, etc. etc. etc. Opposite examples: the last two Radicals. That orange -- in any shade -- while novel, even cool perhaps, is simply too much to look at on a consistent basis. It's eye-assaultingly bad, flat-out. The upcoming Strike is apparently another; the base color is bland, but the accenting and theming on top don't even remotely begin to offset it. Bad, bad, bad design. But hey, the dogs will probably still eat it, so who cares right? It's just a bizarre world we live in when you can come out with a frame as stunning as the Pure Strike VS, then turn around a release this. Make no mistake, these are first-world problems, but still, very goofy! There is an immense difference in a vibrant red and the classic orange of the radicals. I really like the orange that Head used in the prior iteration. Not crazy about the orange and navy.
At my club ALL the radical players use Solinco Hyper-G. I'd shout hindrance but no Ref will act.Opposite examples: the last two Radicals. That orange -- in any shade -- while novel, even cool perhaps, is simply too much to look at on a consistent basis. It's eye-assaultingly bad, flat-out.
My impression is that the new Pure Strike stripes are more orange compared to the traditional red. Babolat also releasing a new orange color for one of their shoes. The Strikes are red, not orange though. There is an immense difference in a vibrant red and the classic orange of the radicals. 2-3 months away? Mind sharing the source of that info? I checked with two different stores in June and they both told me Jan 2024.The most powerful among control oriented sticks is 2-3 months away launch. PJ changes will remain as minimal as possible.
It seems we’re in one of those years where every new racquet iteration will be in ‘24 or later.2-3 months away? Mind sharing the source of that info? I checked with two different stores in June and they both told me Jan 2024.
Sorry my mistake. Some stores will have demos before January launch.2-3 months away? Mind sharing the source of that info? I checked with two different stores in June and they both told me Jan 2024.
im pretty irritated by this new cosmetic, but then i realized that weve really only seen one angle. will hold out hopeThe most powerful among control oriented sticks is 2-3 months away launch. PJ changes will remain as minimal as possible.
Honestly the OG Pure Strike was more coral imo than red or orange. Idk why they moved on from that color to orange on the V2 then red on the V3. Seems like they can’t make up their mind on what color is what.My impression is that the new Pure Strike stripes are more orange compared to the traditional red. Babolat also releasing a new orange color for one of their shoes.
Maybe they are moving the traditional red to an orange-red blend? I’m just speculating…..
Would 97 be the VS replacement ? Same mold? Also heard roumours that will hit the stores before year end.
Naming like Strike 97, 98, 100, 103 will likely be shown - meaning the VS is not EOL.
