Pure Strike 2024

Also to add that team lines from babolat play too solid for their weight when compared to Light versions from other manufacturers that feel hollow and way too fast through the air.
Yeah this is kinda crazy. I played all team version from babolat and they all feel very solid for their weight and SW. I only added 2g at 12 on my strike team to bump up the SW. Nothing needed at 3&9 for me. I even consider bringing the SW down to 319 to have even more speed

I actually find that because of the increased feel and slightly thinner profile I'm able to work the ball better. Even though I've increased the weight significantly it does not have the power of the 16/19 but for me is more manoeuvrable.
How did you have yours setup?

Idk how people think that brands other than Dunlop have the balls to have a PJ of a totally different line on a racket

To be fair other brands do this. Plenty of Wilson female players (and de Minaur) are using Steam frames with Blade PJ. Gauff is using a Speed with a Boom PJ and Musetti uses an Extreme with a Boom PJ.

I believe what @bobeeto was referring to was an Alicia Parks Yonex racket painted like a Dunlop racket from earlier this year.
The examples you mentioned are within the same brand (ie Wilson steam painted like a blade)

ah yess head haha i will concede that they do that a lot. i just mean more simple three silo brands like babolat or yonex. i forget how many freaking racket lines head has

97 is now much stiffer than the current VS...

Hm.. weird, TTW lists it at 63, and definitely seems comfortable...

LE: Could be strung/ unstrung values?

yeah it is exactly that - Babolat's figures are always unstrung and also +/-3 for RA, so the average may be lower RA wise - in general i would expect it to be largely the same racquet

They will probably add the Flax fibers or whatever it was that they used on the PA98 to make it feel softer (just a guess though).

VS feels quite soft, obviously softer than PS 98 16x19.
But would be nice to be even more comfortable and a bit more powerful (if possible)

Making the 97 softer than the VS would make it a bit vage and even more underpowered (For some)

Rune apparently is testing the new 97
It looks like a PS VS with a PS Gen3 shaft... /_0_\
I like that idea. I play with the PSVS (got 4) and love the head 97 and the string pattern, the shaft seems a little under power by design and it flexes differently, very traditional for control....
The 3rd Gen shaft can give it a good balance with a good power.
Hopefully is not too head heavy... 328 SW is very medium value that can easily be brought up above 330.

It makes sense to me, can't wait to try it.

Is not the 97... Is a 100

Is there any further information regarding new Pure strike model? Personally, I’m considering to buy Lite version and want to know will they change its weight, balance, string pattern, etc, and launching date.

The PSVS is RA63, and very noticeable on the shaft flex. Quite comfortable, less power than the RA70 of the PS, you have to create the power.
I play with the VS, have increased the weight and have to say that for me it's the best frame I've ever hit with, the control is excellent also. Going to buy the new 97s as soon as they land.

Yes it is, I'm just pointing out that the specs they were looking at are Babolat's unstrung specs which say the Pure Strike VS is RA67 +/-3 which is why the specs are so high in the specs in this thread

Pure Strike Lite is recommendable for ~12Y competitive junior players? I can find so many players using Aero or Drive but very small amount of Strike.

Subscribing. I’m very interested in the 18x20 reviews once they start coming in.

I really can’t jive with the pure drive or pure aero and the prior strike was a bit harsh on my arm. Would love for the new version to be more playable.(for my arm)

He was back to his Aero this weekend in London..shame as I would've like to have seen him with the VS/97
Holger found out Aero is the best racket in hisotry of tennis so if he wants to win 26 majors, he better stick with it. Mortogorue told him.
