Putting a couple amazing Novak accomplishments together!

As we all know, tomorrow will be Novak Djokovic's record-shattering 37th slam final.
He is also, as we know, 37 years old.
But how many of you have put these two stats together?

This means, to be ludicrous about something already ridiculous, if Novak played from the day he was born, he has averaged one slam final for every year. Of life!
Can any other player (I'm guessing not, but don't know) in the history of the game claim this, or have claimed this at any point of their career?
It's hard enough to have averaged one/year for every year of a player's career.
The OE men's list would include (# of slam finals in parentheses): Novak (37); Fed (31); Rafa (30). I'm pretty sure that Lendl (19), Sampras (18) and Borg (16) could all claim that, unless their careers were longer than I guessed.

For OE women, I'd have to check to see if any of the Big 4 averaged - at any point - one slam final for every year of life. A couple may have.
The Big 4 are: Evert (34); Serena (33); Martina (32); Steffi (31).

Well it’s a weird stat about the years born as if a 2 year old could play one but I’ll go with it.

Steffi Graf definitely did it. She retired at 30 having made 31 slam finals. So her stat or whatever you want to say is there.

Then there’s women like Navratilova and BJK who were doing it in singles and doubles so they were making a bunch of finals,

But that’s not to discount Novak who is clearly outright leading the mens race,

Grasping at straws yet again for the undisputed goat in an attempt to elevate him from forever being overshadowed by Fedal, but yes wow another amazing GOAT stat heheee

What a coincidence! @RaulRamirez
I was thinking about this in the morning but decided to wait until his slam finals number goes ahead of his age.

For ATP in the Open Era, if you calculate:

Number of Slam Finals - Age

For every ATP player who has ever reached a Slam final, the starting calculation is at least -16 (only for Chang, Becker, Wilander, Borg).

I believe Nole is the only player in ATP to turn this calculation to 0 (his number of slam finals catches up with his age), followed by Rafa at -5 and Fed at -6.

I don't know about that. But I know he just made (at least) one Grand Slam final in 16 different seasons. Federer and Nadal stopped at 15. With this final, Djokovic has now 16. Another amazing record.

All I was doing was putting two facts (stats) together in a creative way.
It's a crazy amount of success.

I've never been one to mix not only different eras, but different eras.
My whole motivation was to remark at the shared oddity of a 37th slam title at age 37.
Uh, I was responding to your question on whether Martina was in most combined singles/doubles/mixed major finals all time. She wasn't. It's a bit of a stretch to say Court played in a different era than Martina if that is what your are saying. Open Era has a lot less meaning for the women(and Court continued to dominate once the Open Era began - won a calendar Grand Slam, beat Evert in a RG final etc) Look at the draws at the women's majors in 1967(pre open era) and in 1968(open era). It's the same exact field, totally different from the difference in majors in the men's game(with all the great players being banned from majors in 60s).

I don’t know how many here know she has a “Double Boxed Set”

Martina and Margaret are just incredible

as I see, as usual when it comes to Nolet's successes, many women's names pop up in order to diminish those successes. where are all those mountain women when talking about jordan, messi, phelps, bubka, shumacher, ali, woods, etc.. and where they hid when it was told about fed, sampras and borg

Evert also. Her 34th slam final came when she was 33 years old.

Women's records are not to diminish Nole. They are to elevate him
they are completely irrelevant for nole. they neder dismish or elevate him but peaple writes about them in try to dismish nole. he was not longest no1 stefi was? he has not slam record court has? he is not only one with GS since 3 surfaces, serena, stefi and some other women have it too?

Novak has more YE and weeks at #1 than Stffi had and as many slam titles as Court has.
