As we all know, tomorrow will be Novak Djokovic's record-shattering 37th slam final.
He is also, as we know, 37 years old.
But how many of you have put these two stats together?
This means, to be ludicrous about something already ridiculous, if Novak played from the day he was born, he has averaged one slam final for every year. Of life!
Can any other player (I'm guessing not, but don't know) in the history of the game claim this, or have claimed this at any point of their career?
It's hard enough to have averaged one/year for every year of a player's career.
The OE men's list would include (# of slam finals in parentheses): Novak (37); Fed (31); Rafa (30). I'm pretty sure that Lendl (19), Sampras (18) and Borg (16) could all claim that, unless their careers were longer than I guessed.
For OE women, I'd have to check to see if any of the Big 4 averaged - at any point - one slam final for every year of life. A couple may have.
The Big 4 are: Evert (34); Serena (33); Martina (32); Steffi (31).
