that's something worth fantasizing about,no seffina?:p
Ask your canery man.He seems to have a talent in this.

Berdych? Or cucio? If shadows was around, I could ask him! He's quite good at it. If I really wanted it, I suppose I could do it.

I kind of really want it.

Ok alright kiddo, looks like those hormones are starting to kick in. Take it easy. Don't get worked up. Teenage doesn't last forever.

I actually agree. He's failed to improve and Davydenko was slipping in the 2nd and Federer unable to take advantage of that abysmal opening 2nd set game. Going from 12-0 to 12-2 in 3 months is never a good sign. Ridiculous cross-court angles is what Davydenko does, something that never bothered Federer. Now it suddenly seems to.

What a brilliant, reasoned response. Exactly what I would expect from somebody whose "arguments" have run out of gas. Go troll elsewhere.

LOL at the pointless arguments. Let's just wait for the AO to start and save some bandwith homies.

The tubes are getting clogged LOL

Oh no. You must be a pimple-faced Fed-hater, too!

It is reasoning enough for you based on your previous responses. You go be a hater. Desi bhosdike.

It's very easy to make sweeping declarations and ad hominem insults. It's a different ballgame entirely to respond to specific points with reasoning and evidence. Which part of what I said is untrue? Are you saying my posting history doesn't indicate that I have a strong liking for Federer? Are you suggesting that Federer's level of play wasn't declining after the US Open last September? Are you saying that Fed's level of play so far this year isn't eerily reminiscent of that decline? Are you saying that Fed isn't struggling with the very aspects of his game right now that were causing him problems in Paris and London? I'm waiting to hear all your brilliant insights on why all these assessments are wrong. Instead, we get your convoluted reasoning that Fed is playing himself into form through increasingly worrisome performances. And that anybody who points this out is a juvenile hater.

Davy is just playing great at the moment, although knowing him he'll get knocked out before the quarter finals at the Aussie Open:(

Come on Davy, prove everyone wrong:)

wow, just checked in from work (had to leave in the first set when Davy was up by 4 games). I thought for sure Federer would recover...:neutral:

But what's this I see in some messages about his wrist? Was there an announcement or comment about this being an issue for him?

Either way, I have to say I think Nadal's in excellent shape and should win against Davydenko tomorrow. To me, Davy plays Nadal in much the same way Soderling does...lots of deep balls in the same damn corners over and over again. Judging from the last Sod match, I think Nadal's got that all figured out now.

Sometimes it's obvious that Fed tanked

Today, it looked like he really lost and it upset him

He's definitely not going to relax before the AO- penciling more hours on the practice courts

Blinkism, I was unable to watch most of that match. Was there some report his wrist was bothering him?

^^^ I'm not talking about today's match actually. Just that comment: "Sometimes it's obvious that Fed tanked"... Seriously? When? Del Potro? I guess, because all this "Federer tanking" crap started with that match, and it still stinks today as much as it did that day.

Excellent remark although I still think Fed's game is somewhat declining as well. But no doubt he saw Rafa play today and did NOT want to play him in the final. With Fed's current level, he would have had 0 chance of beating THAT Rafa, he would have got humiliated.

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. This is no different than when Nadal got blown off the court and got Davydenkowned.

just to add, from what I saw in the match- it really did look like Fed shook his wrist a few times and made some worried looks to his camp.

I don't think it's anything he'll carry over to the AO, however- he's got a full physio team, from what I hear, and any little problem like this will be squared away before the AO

the only drawback, though, is that he may have to cut down on the practice in the next few days- crucial preparation time for the Aussie Open

Ofcourse, this is all just my assumption

FROM PREVIOUS POSTS
(me) >> My point is simple. I'm not relying on the results per se of GS from past years but from the TURNAROUND from run-up tournaments to GS tournies in the past. There's enough evidence there to point out that eventual champions like Nadal and Federer have done bad in run-up tournaments, but improved for the slam itself. This is nothing new. Roger has been "doomed" many times before only to prove us wrong.

(me) >> So after an exhausting year winning 2 of the 4 slams and getting beat in the finals of the other 2 in 5 sets, you want me to base his peformance in 2010 on his showing towards the end of 2009? He's also had time off to rejuvenate and practice over Christmas. He's still fine-tuning his game and getting match practice.

(kanamit)>>"If you want to hold out hope that this showing against Davydenko is some sort of blip, more power to you"
(my reply)>> No more wishful than you thinking that Roger's showing here is a predictor of a bad year or bad AO .

(kanamit)>> "This year he hasn't even played at a top 10 level"
(my reply)>> Its 8 days into the new year
(kanamit)>> "It is eight days into the new year, but we've seen Fed play five matches"
(my answer to that is) >> Its still 8 frikkin days since he got back from a month and half long break. How can this be any predictor?

(kanamit)>> "I am going to use Fed's more recent performances as predictors of his future level of play, not distant memories of previous grand slam triumphs"
(me) - see my first point.

- Which of these are not reasoning? Until you started getting all "you don't know sh&t" I did not get down to your level.

- As for your posting history, who cares? You want me to forget Roger's slam history and see his current performance. But you want me to look at your posting history while closing my eyes to what you said earlier about how pitiable that he's getting stomped by his rivals etc.

- Today his BH was completely off. Show me where his BH was breaking down in London and Paris. I'd like to see the evidence supporting your conclusion that this is somehow a continution of last year. All that is common is that he's losing. If you want to call it a streak, sure, call it that. But just as you conclude that's its all downhill from here (talk about sweeping conclusions), I think that there have been losing streaks in Roger's year the past couple of years, its not new. It happened last year after AO. It happened during the clay season and it wasn't until Madrid that he even had success.

- And finally, just the other day against Roger was serving great against Korolev, yet today his serving was abysmal, especially on break points. Down to a 55% first serve pct. The commentators mentioned Roger's wrist and it seems he may have some niggling issue there. So how can you put so much credence in this loss right away without knowing what happened? Who is making sweeping conclusions here?

hmm..interesting.

I tell you, I was quite surprised to find out he lost today. But I hope he's OK and can get in some of that needed practice time.

Maybe he'll sign up to play the Kooyong Classic Exhibition for extra practice.

Djoker and Delpo are playing there, I think. Murray's also thinking about going there, apparently.
