That is true.

Maybe Zverev will give Federer the game of his life. He will probably lose, but Federer might have to spit some blood.

Fed doesnt have problems with players who are naturally like him, attacking. After his match with Sampras he got bored and tried to be the best at the wta style, nadal was better

You are going way back son......Fed's match against Sampras will have no effect on how he plays today. I doubt he even remembers it.

Only strong opponent was Nishi and he self-imploded - wouldn't read too much into it
I dont think Fed will win, but it would take a R1/R2 loss to make him consider retirering. A SF wi If Stanimal shows up in SF/final there is noone stopping him! Except maybe your man? ;)

In fairness - Fed - Dimitrov final would be the most epic showdown tennis has been waiting for years. Nike / Wilson would probaly declare it a national holiday
Yeah, i hope his not trying to defeat Goffin from the baseline. Although you dont like Fed, Grigor should watch how Federer plays Goffin. Probably too much to ask for such a final though...

How he played in the past has no effect on how he currently plays? Seriously?

Players adapt, counter attk/attk is still his plan A.

Do you Sabre bro?

Didn't watch the match. Was Stan that dominant as the result suggests or it was Tsonga who switched to his clown mode?

Dimi winning would be more pleasing than Stan, but Stan beating Nadal specifically after all the rubbish that was spouted about Stan being a fluke and Nadal being injured and that Stan didn't do anything special etc. would make it a poetic outcome.

That's true, I agree completely.

I am incorrigible, NN. I started the tournament hoping Roger would make QF. Now after what has transpired, I started thinking of #18

Stan has everything to beat Fed in the semi ıf that match happens. This is by no means peak Fed. I still believe he will TANK though.

Federer was a baby back then !!!!! He hasn't played a SV for so many years. It's not as if he is a computer, and simply "loads" SV mode. It doesn't work that way.

It's NOT like Stan tanking. He has problems playing Roger. Roger robs Stan of time. It doesn't happen much on clay. And there he clobbers Roger there. RG 2015 QF

A Fed v Fed Zero final i assume would be a nightmare for fans of both since it's either the elusive #18 or the elusive #1.

Anyway don't think this final is very likely though so no worries.

A term I believe I coined once upon a time. Could be wrong, though!

Stan is looking scary good. He controlled a player like Tsonga as if he has joystick in his hand. Every big point he was able to turn god mode on. Going by today, he is the man to beat.

Sorry to tell you mate but someone apparently beat you by almost 3 years. :p
Federer feels rightly insulted.

Don't see the hype. Fed is not so good because his strokes look nice, his one-handed backhand, or his wearing of sweatbands. He's no. 1 because of a great forehand, explosive movement, and a very good serve. No, no, and no. Dimitrov might become a good player, but he is not FedLight. Maybe FedZero.

Perhaps they need to re-brand him as FedZero? ..... :D

Still curious about what these two guys said to each other in French...

silly stuff like
Jo "don't look at me like that"
Stan "am not looking at you, you are looking at me and talking to me"
Jo " yeah right"
Stan "relax it's just a tennis match, do your thing I do my thing and it will be fine"

lol kinda childish really

They're quarrel goes way back. They use to be friendly with one another. But when Stan won his first GS, he made some insinuations (thrash talk if you must) about the French players. This didn't sit well with Tsonga and the others. So, Tsonga and Wawrinka have been cold to one another since. I'd say Warinka has always been a mug.

May Federer beat you to a pulp !!!

Well, I can't figure out how adults can have a conversation like that...
