Qlipp - Does anyone have the final product?

I know there was a thread for the Qlipp but that was a very early pre-sale product. I want to know if anyone has received the final product? Amazon has them for sale from Qlipp and says shipping is between Jan 17th - Feb 17th. I am thinking about purchasing one as my Sony Smart Tennis Sensor flew off and broke. I've been 2 months back and forth with Sony and they may be finally sending me a replacement but I feel it could fly off again so I'm thinking about going with the Qlipp since it also can do video.

I got an email from Amazon today saying the Qlipp has shipped but still has a date of Jan28-Feb28. Hoping it gets here sooner.

I believe it's shipping all the way from China, so shipping estimates can vary. Sometimes when I've gotten products from China I have been completely shocked at how far ahead of schedule they came, but other times I have been disappointed. Fingers crossed!

I think my preordered one shipped out of Singapore. The company itself is based in Singapore as far as I know

Looks like they are not selling them anymore on Amazon. I'm looking forward to using the Sony sensor and the Qlipp sensor to see which one records the best data. I also want to do a video using both apps (on different devices of course) while both being on my racket. I'm hoping the Qlipp is so good, I can sell my Sony sensor.

Got mine yesterday although won't have a chance to test until later in the week. Found it really tricky to install (on my Angell TC95). My main concern, just swinging indoors, is the added weight and change in balance. Mine adds 9g taking it to 362g and I can really feel the difference. Starting to slightly regret buying even without hitting with it, we'll see.

Yeah got mine the other day and posted the QLIPP Sensor VS Sony Tennis Sensor review. I'm glad I'm not the only one having an issue getting the darn thing attached to the strings. If I didn't already have the Sony Sensor I would say Qlipp is the best just because of the video mode. I think every sensor should have a video mode now.

The Sony does not record video off a mobile device?
Any idea if the qlipp is available in the UK and the price?

Sony DOES record video on both the iOS and android. The Qlipp only records video on iOS so far and will have an update for android later.

My hope is that QLIPP can deliver the most accurate reading of the racquet head speed.

Finally a sensor that is placed on the stringbed.

Tested it out tonight and here are my initial impressions:

Putting it on the stringbed was extremely difficult at first, but I kinda figured it out and can get it on or off in like 10-15 seconds now. Weight-wise I only noticed it when just swinging the racquet around without actually hitting. Once I hit a couple balls, the weight didn't really bother me at all, and I pretty much forgot it was even on there after a few minutes. I like the app and its layout. It's simple and the whole system/app/wireless connectivity works literally flawlessly. My only issues were with accuracy of its readings. It seemed like 4/5 times it would be good, and the other 1/5 it would be way off. When I was hitting forehands, the speed would be like "65...62...57...64...107" or "61...56...63...55...23". I had these same results on serves and backhands. I'm also not sure how it measures ball speed given it's probably based off of racquet head speed when there are so many different weights and configurations of racquets as well as varying amounts of spin and such. Also, it wasn't 100% accurate on what shot I was hitting. I remember having the volume turned on and was listening to it as it read off the speeds while I was hitting, and I remembered hitting a nice hard backhand, and it was like "85." Then I went to check my hitting and saw that that shot was counted as a forehand. I think this was pretty rare though as the ratio of forehands to backhands that I was hitting seemed about right. I was a little bit bummed that video functionality for Android isn't available yet, but I contacted the people over at qlipp and he expects it to be available by the end of the month.

Overall, I was very impressed about how well the whole ecosystem functioned, and I realize that most of the accuracy issues will be tweaked with updates like the Zepp and Sony sensors. I would recommend this product so far for people to give it a try, but I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of people wait till the bugs get sorted out.
Pros:
-Design
-Application
-Minimal effect on playability
-Price

Cons:
-Accuracy (will probably change in future)
-No video with Android yet (will change soon)

Did it register your serves pretty seamlessly? I did several rounds with the ball machine hitting forehands and backhands with the same input you had in your review, but then I did serve practice and got horrible results. It only recorded about half of the serves, and every single one counted as a forehand.

Tested mine tonight, not very impressed. Tricky to attach. Felt heavy on the racket and made a rather unpleasant pingy noise, even with a dampener. It didn't register any serves, only played 3 games before i had to give up as we started losing and it just felt horrid. Said I did 21 forehands of which only 1 was topspin, I do hit with what I thought was a fair amount of topspin. Regret buying, won't be using again.

I'm hoping to play a match tonight with the Sony Sensor and the Qlipp sensor on my racket. I'm starting to think the Qlipp isn't as good as the Sony sensor.

I'm not saying it is a bad product, just didn't suit me. I think part of the problem is the balance as it doesn't fit evenly on the strings - one side sticks out further than other and I can feel it. I've worked hard to get my racket just as I like it, so the extra 9g and change in balance is a bit much.

I thought it was just me! I kept thinking I had the Qlipp on the strings wrong. I'm not sure whey they designed it that way but a redesign with a clip instead of the current way is really needed. Also would be nice to have it wider instead of taller.

It's hard to see in the picture. it's the way the Qlipp is designed. The clips that hold the string in place are different sizes or different length and it makes the Qlipp look like it's not on correctly. I don't like that it does it.

Just bought one. I'm hoping it will help practice my serve maybe I can find out what my serve % is like at different speeds am I df ing when I go for too much or hitting too far towards the top of the racquet. It will encourage me to film matches as well which I think will help a lot.

I think if you use the video mode on your serves you will get the information you are looking for.

I used mine for the first time today. The interface between the sensor and the app worked flawlessly. Besides using it myself I had several other players hit a variety of shots. As others have stated, it consistently reads low in terms of speed and is inconsistent in RPM. No doubt about it. But it is consistent relative to how hard different players hit the ball -- while inaccurate, it is not random. It is consistent in its inaccuracy. So, I think this is something the guys at Qlipp should be able to work through in a short period of time. Yes, it is a PITA to mount the first time (especially if you mount it with the last cross intersecting the device as I did my first time). It gets easier after a few times. Weight and dampening issues were non-existent for me on my Volkl Organix 8 Super G. Hopefully, they sort out the algorithms and make it into a useful tool rather than a cool toy. The people at Qlipp have been immediately responsive and very communicative, as they've been since the inception of the Indiegogo campaign.

Used mine today - it does not pick up serves well for me it detected 3 all day. I looked after trying a flat serve and it said 45mph forehand so I'm worried I cant serve faster than 50mph... Any idea if when it mistakes a serve for a FH if the speed will be lower?

Qlipp sees 9 out my 10 serves as forehands.

Tested mine today fort the first time. Something is seroiusly wrong with defining shots. I had 200 BH against a player that doesn't have a backhand...we mostly play FH. This was at 1 h 45 min session so I could have agreed upon 100 but 200? No way. I have a pretty heavy serve but 20 % > 125 mph...-no way again.

And then, the thing that I have missed out totally: The weight, 11 grams (gaget+damperer) sounds like nothing but it is all the difference! I have recently changed from Babo Pure Drive to Pure Drive Tour. It gave me a beefier hit and suits me perfect, I am not a spinner á la Nadal. The switch means an extra 15 grams. With the 11 gram gear from Qlipp it made the racket to heavy, slow(er) swing and I missed the crisp feeling I use to have. Called Babo representative and asked where to put 11 grams (did not mentioned Qlipp as they have their own systems play and POP) if I wanted a heavier racket - and I can say that it was definately not where the Qlipp is attached.

I can see that this is not in Qlipps interest to inform about but the fact must be clear to them as well. In the near future I think all rackets will have possibilities to be connected.

So, my Qlipp will be on the market tomorrow...:(
