Question about Agassi's Frames

More specifically about one of his PJs or lack thereof. Anyone know what Agassi never used the Microgel Radical PJ? At that time (mid 2000s) he was the face of Head tennis. I noticed that he was pictured using the Instinct I believe at the French Open but I don't recall him using that frame for an extended period.

I recall Andy Murray using a MG Radical PJ but never Agassi or did he?

I believe he retired before the microgel radical came out. His last frame as a pro player was the Head with Radical Flexpoint paintjob. You can search getty and see if he ever used the microget paintjob in exhibition matches post 2006.

He experimented with the Instinct a few different times in his career, but never played tour matches for any length of time with it, returning to the Radical.

he mentioned donnay racquets also, i dont recall exactly..

SIgh......I never said it bothers me, nor that was insignificant....I said I wasn't "sure why it mattered", because you didn't elaborate on why you wanted the information, or what the goal was. As an expert on Agassi, I could tell you a great deal about his frames/game/life etc.....IF I knew where you had been going with it.

The Donnay era was from 1989 through 1992.... his contract - HUGE at the time, nearly bankrupted the company...

Andre blames signing with Donnay on Nick (who did get a contract as well), but that's bunk. Shelton negotiated that deal, and many, including Mike Agassi advised Andre against it....but he went with the big money. Prince didn't believe in huge endorsements at the time.....

In any case.....long story short....he used 2 different Donnay frames - 3 if you include a remolding of the Pro One done after an emergency meeting with Dickie Dillon et al. in the spring at Indian Wells after Andre had embarrassed the company that just signed him for 6+ million, by using a blackened Prince - and failing to inform them that there was a big problem! Lol

LOL. No...but sometimes there was a reason behind the random questions....when there is, it helps people answer.

Then again, sometimes it's just a case of a sad man who asks random questions about a player he's developed a man-crush for, and hopes people will take the time to answer without him having to reveal his true reason for even asking.....he gets a bit sensitive if someone even asks.... ;-)

LOL. Yes, and they must be JUST SO.....that's why I needed to know exactly what bag hunky Agassi was using in fall 94....but don't tell anyone....or I'LL FREAK OUT.... ;-)

i remember that he retired using the flexpoint pj and he played the wimbledon xo against henman with a youtek pj. i think there has been video of some really informal events when andre appears to use the microgel pj but the video i've seen is really sketchy so i can't really tell.
