Question about the TW Leather Grips

BreakPoint

I've tried the TW leather grip in the 25mm x 1.5mm variety, and although it's a very nice, high quality grip, I found I did not really like the feel of the "peaks and valleys" or "bumps" as they seem to be more pronounced in this grip than some others. I guess I'm more used to the feel of a "flatter" grip like the Babolat or Wilson leather grips. From looking at the underside of the TW 1.5mm grip, it appears the "peaks and valleys" are caused by the raised part of the grip being narrower in the middle of the grip than the other grips.

So I was wondering if I switch to the 25mm x 1.3mm version of the TW leather grip, would it also have the "peaks and valleys" like the 1.5mm version or would it feel "flat" like the Babolat or Wilson leather grips? Also would the 1.3mm version make the grip feel much smaller than the 1.5mm version and also feel smaller than the Babolat and Wilson grips? Like I said, I think the TW grips are of higher quality so I'd like to stick to them but the difference in not having a flatter feel to my grip is bothering me a bit.

Thanks

BP, I can't comment on the 1.5mm as I haven't used it. But the 1.3mm has little to no "peaks and valleys." As for the size, I guess it would feel .2mm thinner. :)

It would feel thinner like TheShaun said, but you can create (mimic) the valleys you have with the thicker version by wrapping it a little further apart. Just put more distance between the layers as you wrap it and that will create the valleys. It doesn't have to be a lot, just a little.

i have to chime in that these grips are nice

they were ok wen i first put them on but after a few weeks... they felt better and better once they started to break in and my hand oil conditioned them some. (I use them bareback)
