Question for Chris and Troy about Blades

Hey TW,
I'm anxious to demo the new blades, but until then I wanted to ask Chris and Troy a question. Between the BLX Blade 98 and the new Blade 98 (18x20), which one feels more maneuverable? The BLX Blade scores higher in maneuverability in the review, but also has a 335 swingweight vs. 330. Just curious. Thanks for any help.

As you can see by the swingweights, they are within spec tolerances of each other so the difference is hardly anything at all. You can always request the lowest swingweight from stock if you call in your order. It is an additional fee but well worth it.

neversaydienadalfan,

Overall, I found the new Blade 98 (18x20) to feel a bit more maneuverable than its predecessor. The new version felt a bit more whippy in the way that it cut through the air, in comparison to the previous model. With this being said, there is always the issue of quality control; meaning that multiple frames of the same model may have variance in the specs. With this in mind, we offer an MRT(master racquet technician) matched racquet service, for an additional fee.

One question about Blade 16x19

Hey Chris and Troy,
I just have one more question. Through the matching service, do you think it is possible to find a Blade 16x19 version with at least a 2 Point Head Light Balance and a swingweight around 325? I was just curious since that is what I'm really looking for. Thanks guys!

All measurements will be done unstrung -- since we can't string all the racquets in stock to find strung specs.

We can match an exact strung spec for you where possible (obviously we can't make a 12 ounce racquet a 9 ounce racquet etc) with our MRT service. We can do this to multiple frames or just one. You can always order another one later down the road as the spec info on your MRT service will be saved in our system.

If you are particular about your specs, I think it is well worth the investment.
