I'm going to string it with Solinco Hyper G. What's the best tension for the POG 107/OS/Tour? I'm thinking of of 60lbs?
Thanks,
David

I think 60lbs would be a good starting point. The weight of the racquet, its flex and the large headsize make such a high tension with poly more comfortable than expected and bring down the power of the racquet.

I have two strung up right now with a poly I'm testing: one at 46lbs and one at 57lbs with both strung on a constant pull machine. I'm getting more and more used to the lower tensioned one, but it takes more of an adjustment than my Pure Drive Plus, for sure.

Cheers and happy hitting,
Chris, TW.

Alright, I just strung it right between your two tensions at 53lbs. I'll see if I like it like that or want to go higher. Besides Solinco Hyper G, is there any other poly string that goes well with it? Any hybrids?

Agassi was rocking a POG with what looked like Hyper G in it while playing in 2016 so you're off to a good start! I would also recommend Volkl Cyclone 16, Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable (with a pre-stretch), Kirschbaum Max Power Rough (and Super Smash), RS Lyon, Luxilon 4G and Babolat RPM Blast.

I like all of those strings and think they'd bring out the spin potential of the POG while also enhancing its control.

Cheers,
Chris, TW

That's a good list! Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try and experiment around a little and see what fits me.
Thanks again,
David

Seth,

At this time, Prince Original Graphites have been discontinued. We are not aware of any future plans.

Thanks,

Neazapada,

Yesm Kirschbaum Max Power is a great string. I would recommend starting the tension at 55 lbs and add or subtract a couple depending on if you need a little more power or control.

Thanks,

Hi David!

Do you remember the tension was good for you after your tests with hyper-g?

I just got one POG107 and I don’t know what tension I will put...

It was good tension, but obviously stringing at that number will decrease even lower when playing it for awhile. I would recommend going a higher tension, let’s say at 58lbs.

I find Wilson Revolve 16 works really well too. I could see the ball "jump/kick" at the other end. But I do string much lower though at 42. I'n gonna try 45 next time but that's as far as I'd go as I don't want to risk my elbows.

Hi Chris, when you say pre-stretch Ultra Cable do you mean to say with the machine's pre-stretch function? Would delayed clamping (say 5-10 seconds) work as well?

I'd pull tension on each string twice before clamping. That will give you a better pre-stretch and should also be faster to string. Doing a long pull or delayed clamping will give you the equivalent of a light pre-stretch.
