Question for Players Who've Used Wilson Hollow Core

I got my free sample and plan on trying them out in a KBlade 98, but not sure what tension to try. I've only demoed the KB98 from TW which either had NXT or Sensation.

Can anyone give a comparison between Hollow Core and those two? Is Hollow Core stiffer?

Yes, Wilson’s Hollow Core is stiffer than regular NXT and Sensation. It may help to think of Hollow core as a replacement for Wilson’s relatively stiff Reaction.

My time with Hollow Core is limited, but playing at 60 pounds on a 200G Muscle Weave for a couple of hours I found it to be firmer than Sensation (which is pretty much oatmeal to me) but in no way similar to Reaction. Not only did it feel softer than Reaction, but it lacked the tactile, "connected" feel that Reaction gives. If this is really supposed to be Reaction's replacement Wilson has missed the mark badly.

I played with it for about an hour in my kps88 and had to cut it out....didnt like it at all...Il Mostro is right about comparing it to sensation....thats a good relation to hollow core...i dont know how or why wilson is charging so much for such a string either

Thanks for the feedback. I'll try stringing it a lower tension than the TW demos.

My experience with Hollow Core is also a little limited but in the very short time I had it strung up in a MGPP it was VERY soft to me. Much softer than NXT or Sensation and the strings moved all over the place. I tried it at 59 and if I got another free set to try I would put it at about 65 on mains and 67 on crosses.

I must also agree that it was much softer to me than the two multi's I've tried (Sensation and TNT Fatcore) strung at the same tension. It also helps that the strings gives a large amount of ball pocketing, and it feels as if the ball deforms the string bed quite a bit.
