Question for Troy: Did you switch to Tecnifibre?

I saw you at the play test at I.W. and was curious if you switched to the TF 40 and to which model? I was looking at getting the new TF 40 315 the play testers seemed to like it.
thanks

I haven't commited to a switch quite yet, although I have been hitting the TF40 quite a bit lately. For some reason, I have actually been gravitating towards the 305 18x20. I think hitting with it at IW out on the demo court, and the ball flying a little faster in the desert air, the 18x20 felt great and was helping me control the ball better. I have also hit with the TF40 315 lately, which feels super spin friendly, and really easy to maneuver for a 315 gram frame. That said, I feel like I may have to add quite a bit of head weight to get the swingweight where I like it, and I don't quite feel like I am getting as much court penetration as I am with the 305 18x20. I have also been hitting with the new Prince Tour racquets which are coming hopefully soon (in the next couple months), and the 95 and 98 have been fun to hit with. That said, I think the TF40 305 18x20 has been the best feeling racquet to hit with lately, and the feel is just so solid, plush, but firm enough to pack a punch.

Thanks! I’ll demo the 305 18X20 and the 315. I honestly didn’t like the the original 305. For some reason it didn’t feel plush and the comfort was lacking.

If that was the case with the 1st generation 305, then not for certain if you will like this one more so. I think most of us found the new version a bit firmer, but maybe that is what I like about it... Maybe because I came from like a Six One 95 a while back, that was slightly on the medium to firm side. But definitely worth a demo, and maybe the 16x19 versions will suit you a bit more? Anyways, good luck in the search!
