Hi Folks, Hi Troy

I recently saw Michelle saying you were enjoying the Ripcord a lot. I've only seen Beckett's review of it, where he says it's a very stiff, hollow feeling frame. This doesn't sound like something you'd usually gravitate to. Can you enlighten me? How does it feel to you?
I'm thinking of moving to something more powerful than my old flexy player's sticks because I don't play much these days and the Ripcord had me interested until I heard Beckett say that. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks mate.

I have been enjoying the Ripcord 100 (300g) quite a lot. For me it is just a really fun racquet to hit with. In terms of feel, no it's not quite as solid feeling as some of the heftier racquets that I usually play with, but not any more hollow feeling than say like a Pure Drive, or other thicker beam 300 gram frames. I actually thought it felt decently comfortable too for the stiffness rating, much like the EZONE 100 in that sense. With the rounded head shape and super easy access to spin, it reminds me of some of the old Head Extreme MP racquets from back in the day, like MicroGel, and some of the Youtek versions. It makes power and spin easy for me, but I still felt like I had pretty good control. I'm not saying it is the most solid feeling frame, but I think with some slight modifications it could be a really fun racquet to use, if looking for that added power and spin, with decent control and feel.

However, I am not sure if you have seen this interview yet with our own Chris and Tim from Prince:

It is a good watch, but the part that got me the most interested starts at about @7:13 in the video, and he shows a racquet that will be coming to market, called the Ripstick 98! I am absolutely stoked to get my hands on that and maybe even customize it. We will see, but I am hoping it comes to us sooner than later...Maybe you can get a demo of the Ripstick and see how it works for your game. I hit with it the most with Toroline O-Toro Orange, at about 52 or 53 pounds, and that string worked well for me in that racquet.

Hope that helps, Troy TW

Thanks so much Troy, Yes - helps a lot.

And yes - I had seen that chat with Chris and Tim and my first thoughts too were "Maybe i should wait for this 98...!"

I actually live not all that far from Schutterwald. I might take a drive through the Forest and go and visit the Ripcord in person, swing it around the shop a bit and terrorise the other customers.

Thanks again.
