Question on PT57A Weight

Hi, all:

Hopefully a quick question:

Is a static weight ranging from 335 to 340 grams for an unstrung PT57A I.Radical odd if without silicone and/or lead? I was under the impression that an unleaded/non-siliconed/unstrung PT57A weighs about 250 grams (read it here, but could be mistake). As the retail frame is about 307 grams unstrung, adding about 10 grams (perhaps as much as 20 grams) for the difference between a Head Finest Calfskin grip and the synthetic that came with the retail sticks, it seems that it wouldn't take much to boost up a retail stick to the advertised weight of a particular PT57A (I understand that they are all different once customized). As corollary, it also doesn't appear possible to determine the authenticity of an I.Radical painted PT57A by considering its weight alone.

Also, to this end, any particular methods to determining the authenticity of a I.Radical PT57A beyond the string channel? Moreover, anyway to tell the difference between a PT57E and A in the I.Radical paint scheme?

Thanks, all.

I was under the impression that with most older PJ's of pro stocks, they all had they code in the throat. Obviously I could be mistaken, but pretty well every LM/FXP/MG has had the PT57A code right in the throat.

Sorry that's not much help, I've never really looking into the i.Prestige pro stock lines.

Thanks, Fuji - I could be mistaken, but I thought that the throat coding began right after - as luck would have it - the intelligence series. Just seems the retail and pro stock versions of the intelligence series were very similar but for the composition and flex - thus requiring use to confirm.

That makes sense! I didn't know that about the coding with the intelligence series. You learn something new everyday haha!

PT57A(Pro Tour 630) and i.Radical MP are different molds. There was not PT57E in i.Radical PJ that I have ever seen. i.Prestige MP=PT57E!
Post a photo and I will tell you what you have.

Hi, VS - just sent you a private message - hope it wasn't out of place. Thank you again.

Hairpin is about 255g. That is, no string, no lead, no silicone, no grommets, no caps, no pallets, no butt cap.

I you are not convinced, remove the butt cap and pallet and look for the identifier label on the hairpin under the pallet.
