Hi:
I am about to try a hybrid string on my racquet (Wilson's Champion's Choice which is Wilson natural gut and Luxilon ALU Power Rough). I have heard that with a hybrid with ALU Power Rough where you are using a natural gut or multi-filament, it is good to use string savers to prolong the life of the non-ALU Rough string. Apparently, the ALU Power Rough causes quicker fraying because of its rough texture. Can anyone provide any advice on a good pattern to insert the string savers in the string bed where you use as few string savers as possible but still help to prolong the durability of the string? I tried savers once with a full multi-filament string job, but think I put too many on. If found that they seemed to reduce the bite on the ball. So I'd like to use some with the above hybrid, but minimize their use as much as possible but still prolong the string life. Any advice on a good pattern to insert them would be much appreciated. Thanks.
