Has anyone measured the strung SW of their racquet in stock (no customs) ?
The SW of 321 on TW just doesn't make sense.
I'd say maybe a typo and supposed to be 312 which sounds much more reasonable but it's not first time I see a measured SW on TW that seems too high ... Vcore98 was 325 which is completely nuts but then "lowered to 321 due to additional samples measured" .. still seems too high.

PS97 has always been a heavier racquet. The Vcore98 is a 300g frame. PS97 is a 315g frame. I'd say SW 321 is spot on if not maybe a lil low.

Do you own PS97 or Vcore98 and have or have access to RDC?
They are very head light, thin beam, non-polarized by design racquets.

Sorry but, that's not how swingweight works. A lighter racquet can absolutely have higher swingweight than a heavier racquet.

Here is an excellent explanation of what swingweight is:

possible that yours was on the low end of the range. sw can vary quite a bit on the same model, which is why most makers do not list it as part of the specs.

never used a vcore 98, but the other yonexes i had were fairly close to tw numbers. are you basing your observation of the sw values being "nuts" on more than one frame of the same model?

Have 4 of those all between 321 and 323 SW

Made a custom one through the Wilson custom shop and the balance was a bit off... ended with a 330 SW ... ouch
A few follow up questions if you don't mind - The 4 you have are the v13 ? No lead anywhere ? What strings they're strung with and how did you measure the SW ?

but vary by how much? if it's by more than 10 SW then does it even make sense to list it after it was measured from a few racquets?

i agree more that a 10 sw point difference is a lot, so i use the matching service bc i know sw can vary. However, i still find tw's average sw specs better than not having them, an there will of course be outliers.

Yep v13 without any lead...

Get the matching service from TWE to chose the ones that were on specs and checked again with my Briffidi

They're string with various poly mostly in 120 gauge... with 125 or 130 the SW would be close to 325-327 I guess

So if we agree that specs vary then it means that if someone not using the matching service then the chances are much higher they will get an off-spec racquet because the on-spec were "filtered" by people asking for on-specs.
I'm starting to think how fair all this, when not using the matching service I'm still paying a full price for the racquet then why should I have more chance to get an inferior product?
I wish someone from TW would chime in to this thread and provide a feedback.

Very very conspiratorial thinking. Probably a very small percentage even use the MRT service.

I will switch to Yonex (good spec control) when they learn to make racquets that feel as good and solid as Wilson racquets and constantly innovate like Wilson does.
