Question : Vcore 98 and gravity tour 98, how do they compare ?

I just switched from the head gravity pro 2023 to the yonex vcore 98 7th gen because I wanted a more forgiving racquet. But, with the upcoming release of this gravity tour 98, my timing couldn’t have been worse. It looks like the racquet I have been looking for a few months now. I still love my vcore 98, but I’m wondering how these two frames compare ?

Not being awkward or anything so this answer is with respect, but at this stage, as the Grav98 hasn't been released it'll be very difficult for most here on the TW forums to answer that. You might get the odd person who has luckily managed to get their hands on one . . . .
I'm a current gen Grav Tour user and I plan to get a 98 when released regardless. It's specs just seem to sit right with me and I find the 100 just a little bit too big, too wide, makes it unstable particularly on volleys for me.
Good luck though, srsly.

I’ve had a good chunk of time with both and a bunch of stuff in between. Recently came back to VCore after a few frames I really liked didn’t give me the slice action I liked.

I think the VCore 98 with a tiny bit of lead in the hoop and similar offset under the buttcap is a near perfect racket. It’s also fine if you don’t like a bit heavier stick like me.

Gravity tour is a frame that that needs racket head speed on every shot to play well. The VCORE 98 is more versatile from the perspective of not needing full racket head speed to generate a good ball and I like it better at net.

VCore’s slice is 2nd to none IMO and even though it’s a more open 16x19, perhaps more than the gravity, I sprayed significantly less and hit smaller targets at noticeably higher rates.

I've had the gravity tour for about a month and played a few matches and would largely agree with this though the one area I feel the gravity beats the vcore is on serving and by quite a large margin. The racquet head speed comment is totally true but it's sort of forced me to become a better player in terms of positivity and aggression.
Will stick with the gravity for now and see how the new vcores shape up after Christmas.

Thanks for the feedback. I like my vcore a lot and I’ve actually tried a few other racquets like the speed mp and the pure aero vs. These two frames play nice but they force me to play a certain way. I feel that with the vcore I can play my spin friendly playstyle without comprising on serving, slicing and flatter « winner » shots. I’ll maybe give the gravity tour a shot in a few years when my two vcore will be beaten up which will happen rather quickly because the paint and grommets aren’t durable at all sadly (I hope they fix that for the next gen).

I played w 3 prior Vcore98 versions and really enjoyed them.
Went looking for something that would add control and ability to flatten balls and ended up with Percept 97 & Gravity Tour.
That was likely a mistake as the more control sticks are very rewarding when hit correctly but less forgiving.
Vcore98 is just easier and I win more matches.

Maybe it has to do with swing path, strings, and racquet forgiveness but I find the vcores easier to control and to be more predictable. I could just be an anomaly

Maybe because the vcores are more forgiving and generate more spin. So weird but i could not make the Gtour 98 work for me over the Vcore 100 and I really wanted to
Both spin the ball well, bomb serves and are great but vcore 100 was actually easier for me to flatten the ball.

Again may just be the larger head size but I felt like I framed the ball more with the Gtour as well. I def agree that vcores require less effort

I relate to this a bit actually. I’ve been recently playing with my dad’s ezone 100L 7th gen that I customized with a leather grip and 5g at 12 to bring it up to the regular 100 specs. It’s strung with razor soft 1.25 at 48lbs. I’m actually having a lot more control than my vcore 98. I naturally hit more flat and the power is manageable surprisingly. I can also produce a similar amount of topspin when I want to and my serves are so much more powerful. Right now I’m really considering switching to the ezone 100 or any power racquets like the babolat pure drive or the Wilson ultra. Although I don’t know anyone that plays with these racquets so I’ll have to demo them.

Anyway I would’ve never thought that I would have more control with a power 100 than with a spin 98.
