Nishikori- yeah. Will probably go out w injury in 2 round anyways. He shouldnt even have come to Madrid imo. Have lost quite a lot of respect for him for what happened last year.

Really hope Novak beat him properly.

Well really tough to draw one another for both players. Nishikori is coming from a final so he should be ok form wise while Nole is uncertain. I guess for Djokovic this is his moment to prove himself. Nishikori is a quality opponent and top 10 material player so beating him would erase the fiasco in Barcelona. So Djokovic has a chance here to prove himself and make a statement.

Holy cow. First round Nishikori ? Nishikori played in the final of Monte Carlo a few weeks ago.
but then on the other hand, Djokovic would get a big boost in confidence (that he said he was lacking) if he could beat Nishikori.

Tough first round on paper.
Mental block will be a factor but Nishikori has a higher chance of winning.

Even during their better years, they normally meet in the later stages of the draw where Nishi is drained from multiple 3 setters.
With both of them fresh, it won't be so one sided this time.

Djokovic currently has multiplr injuries including elbow issue.
I think his moving has been impaired last 2-3 months.
If that has been healed, it might be competitive match, I think. More like I hope. :D

Hopefully, Nole can pull this out. Will be a big confidence booster if he does

If Nishi plays like he did in MC, he should beat Novak IMO. Novak hasn't beaten anyone decent this year, while Nishi has at least beaten Cilic and Zverev.

Nole looking pretty well physically than what he looked in monte and barce..
Improving gradually...will still face shock loses..
But physique is building and reshaping once again..
Nole will surely hit good form after being defeated by federer in AO19 final (dont take this seriously)
But yeah, by the HC season of australia 2019, he will be in nice shape
No one comes back like federer

There should be "None of them" option in the poll.
Retirekori retires hours before the match, and then Djokovic loses to the lucky loser replacing Nishikori.

LOL! Didn't you post last week that Djokovic was good enough to get to Nadal, possibly beat Nadal and possibly win the FO? Now you're crowing about Djokovic's "rigged" draw and how "difficult" Nishikori is for him?

Back in the not so distant past, there was no such thing as a bad draw for Djokovic and now many of his fans are lamenting about the "brutal" draws for Djokovic and are worried about players like Goffin and Nishikori, players Djokovic would have for breakfast on most days in the past? Too delicious! :p:cool:

If Nishikori(even a Nishikori coming back from a long absence) can't beat this Djokovic, he should contemplate retirement. But Nishikori will always be Nishikori and who knows if he'll retire mid-match with another injury or if he'll choke to BagofBonesovic. Nishikori is no mental giant vs Big Four players.

If I said that, I was obviously joking. A trap for very smart Fedr wankers

Djokovic should try to win this match.Otherwise he would have losing record this year 5-6.Plus he will lose 360 points and his rankings will plummet

Go talk to somebody stupid. You weren't joking.

You started a thread on April 21/18 about how Nadal is afraid of Djokovic and Djokovic is the only one who can stop Nadal on clay:

Read through the thread. I said in that thread that past Nadal may have been scared of prime Djokovic but these days Nadal certainly wouldn't be afraid of Djokovic. Your response was, let's wait and see what happens at the FO this year and that practice will help Djokovic. It's all there in black and white. There's no need for you to lie now and say you didn't say things like that.

Of course, Djokovic will try. He always does. But will he succeed this time?

You said in that thread that by the FO 2018 that Djokovic(with practice) may be able to beat Nadal. Are you being intentionally slow-witted or does it just come naturally?

Anything could happen lol. As far as we know, Nole could reach top level by FO as he himself said he intends to peak at FO. I never said he was going to win Madrid or Rome.

Yup, these "rigged draws" are really placing dangerous players in Nole's path. Titans of the sport like Taro Daniel, Benoit Paire and and Martin Klizan are littered into his draws.

Should have added

Come on, dude! Stop being so naive.

He's going to go from losing to Martin Klizan to peaking and beating Nadal at the FO? Good luck. o_O

You're underestimating a 12 GS champion and Nadal's only true rival on clay.

Alot on stake here for Nole. He needs to win to not fall like a stone in the rankings, and he needs matches. The French is around the corner and a loss here will be crucially bad for his chances to find any kind of form.

Have to agree on this one. If Nole loses here, his goal of peaking at FO is going to be a foregone conclusion
