Are there Hungarians here to handle this question?;

Dithering JMac seems intent on a curious pronunciation of Marton's surname. He is saying it is pronounced as though the "s" precedes the "c". Is that the true pronunciation?

I would not be surprised if it's a Fook- sew-vitch match but I'm startled it's a Foos-co-vitch match.

The umpire sounds as though he sides with me.

I am sensing disaster in this match if this guy keeps gaining confidence vs Fed. Obviously Fed isn't having any problems keeping his serve but still, its risky if he is just on cruise control and is letting this guy stick around and start to believe.

I kinda think he has to be sick or something.
he'll be fine in this match.
But definitely needs to improve his level vs birdman.

if it's a strategy, not to waste his precious fluids on this kid, then that's fine. If he's just not feeling the feeling, that's not great
It’s strategy. Fed shows signs of frustration when things don’t go as planned and he’s serene today.

If this isn't worrisome at this point then people are lying to themselves. Its one thing to be saving up the gas in the tank but its another to be just flat out missing shots that he should make in his sleep.

I think he's just bored and wants this wrapped up in 90 minutes or less. He's too casual out there and smothering routine volleys. I don't expect him to play this way against Birdman, but if he does, he will be out the door.

That makes it quite clear that money is attractive, not looks.
The gay guy prolly has money already so he goes for looks. ???
Maybe. It’s obvious that men have different motivations though. If I was gay, I’d prefer looks over money.

That’s just me haha

Well, duh! I'd think converting break points is the way to do just that.:D

Fed looks like he'd rather be doing just about anything else.

If he plays like this against Berdych though, he's gonna ruin my January.
He won’t play like this against Berdych. You can book it.

He was sharp against Struff because he knew he had to be. He will most likely go into the Berdych match with the same mindset.

ok if the old man can't be bothered to take this seriously, I'm going to bed. Not worth being tired at work over.

Chill. He's played 3 night matches before this so he's probably just not used to the conditions of a day match. Also it's way better to save your off-day for Fucsovics than Berdych.

Something weird with Fed. He's acting like he's bored out there and irritated about something. Maybe because he has to play during the daytime, maybe because Fucsovics is playing better than he anticipated.
I think he was just not “hyped” for this match, because on paper it is too easy for a Grand Slam round of 16. I myself must admit that after the Gasquet match for a second I thought something like: “Damn, next real Federer match is not in two days, but in four.”

Nobody is totally free of such feelings I believe. But he will get his decisive break in every set and that’s it. No glamour today, not even need for really testing something, because he won’t play another day session this year here (Berdych will almost definitely be the night match and SF/F always is).

Whatever way JMac pronounces it is probably wrong

Cliff Drysdale the absolute WOAT commentator, we’re really recycling the 1hbh vs 2hbh argument and talking about strings again? This guy has been reading off of the same question sheet for the last 40 years and I’ve had enough of this active sabotage of my tennis watching experience. FIRE CLIFF NOW!!!!!

I could just mute but writing this has relieved some tension.

Relax guys. It is better Fed gets to practice this way in a real match in a non pressure situation

Perfect place to get the rust out
