Hey guys,

I am struggling with choosing my next racket.
My profile:
- 4,5/5 all rounder
- semi full forhand swing
- two-handed backhand
- hybrid stringing (various polys as mains and PSGwD as crosses), tension of set 46-55 lbs
- Style: Counter punching and junk ball player

So far I was playing with Blade 98 (K factor) and now with Blade 93 (2014). I liked 93 but it's too unforgiveable and stringbed is too dense (18x20). I like the balance though.
After some research I concluded to choose between Wilson PS 97, Yonex Ezone DR 98, Babolat P17, Wilson RF97.
I tried RF97 and I loved it but heck it's too demanding for my arm and my swing got a little bit belated.
Yonex sounds like good choice but the beam is for my standards extremely thick and RA is quite low (isnt it too flexy?)
Wilson PS 97 seems like lighter version of RF97 but being honest after 3 hours of testing it didn't feel similar.
Babolat P17 - huge hopes concerning primising reviews but I didn't test it yet.

Thanks for sharing your opinion.
Cheers

If you liked the RF97 you could add some weight to the PS97, it will feel closer to the RF yet easier to handle. I did the same with my PS95, I consider it a "PS90 lite".

It seems that you already know what you're looking for in a racquet, so using THIS might help. Then you'll simply have to demo everything that is close to your preferences. Ratings and such only give an orientation and can be off sometimes, e.g. a racquet with a high frame stiffness might feel flexier and vice versa.

Thanks for replying @aurington. I liked RF97 but I didn't like PS 97 and being honest I have no clue how I would need to modify it to create a bit lighter RF97.
Waiting then for Yonex users to confirm about flexibility in EZONE DR 98.

The new Pure Strike really is a nice stick. Demoed it a few weeks ago and really liked the control and pop I got from it. It's extremely stable for its weight too so it doesn't really need lead. I didn't make the switch though as my Angell TC95s feel so much better and hit a far heavier ball. You probably wouldn't like though due to the extreme flexiness.

Angell rackets have great comments like but unfortunately unavailable in my country and quite pricey too :(
