Racket suggestions! :) Thank you!

Hi! I'm 23 years old, and I play with a semi western forehand and a single handed backhand. I play an aggressive baseline game, and love to go to the net when the opportunity presents himself. I hit more flat shots than I do topspin.

Ideally my racquet should be comfortable (plush, buttery feel - emphasis on buttery), and offer me tons of control. Free power is an added bonus. Stability is really important as well with how often I tend to go to the net and 'cuz I tend to play against hard hitters. Weight, pre lead tape, should be ideally between 11 and 12 oz.

Do any sticks that fit this bill come to mind? Thanks for your help :)

Custom Angell, bam.

But otherwise, what do you play with now? Do you prefer a 16x19 or 18x20? Do you prefer a more open or closed pattern? Those will really determine where you will look.

I've been demoing a bunch of sticks, but can't seem to find one that completely bowls me over - the closest would probably have to be the TT100P.

I've most recently been using a weighted (11.9 oz) Pro Staff 97 LS. I'm starting to think that I might appreciate an 18x20 pattern more.

How good is the Angell TC 97? Pros and cons?
Apart from that, any other racquet that fits the bill, or would fit the bill with a bit of lead tape?

Can you just give some info on your racket past.. what you liked about your previous frames? Would help!

Don't know if I can be of much help here since I've only ever really used the Pro Staff 97 LS. I started playing only in Jan this year, but I've made huge strides since. Really the only thing I like about the LS is the amount of topspin I'm able to generate, but that's owing to the spin pattern. It was relatively stable for its weight, but I did need to eventually add weight at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions.
I had a chance to demo the Graphene Touch Speed Pro, and I'd have really liked that and gone for it if the feel wasn't as muted.

But what I'm looking for in a racquet, is what I mentioned, i.e:

- Plush, buttery feel (I quite liked how the DR98 felt)
- Stable (while being under 12 oz would be ideal!)
- Tons of control
- Free power (if I'm not asking for too much)

Hmmm
I would suggest a ummm . . .DR98 maybe?

To recap, this is what I'm looking for in a racquet:

- Plush, buttery feel
- Stable (while being under 12 oz would be ideal!)
- Tons of control
- Free power (if I'm not asking for too much)

On the basis of that, I'm trying to decide between these racquets: Wilson Ultra Tour vs Prokennex Kinetic Ki Q+ Tour Pro (35) vs Prince Textreme Tour 100P vs Angell TC97 (18x20).
Not in a position to demo them as well, so I'm stuck. SIGH.

Try the Prestige if you can handle a sweetspot the size of a pea. I've only had a hit with it once but it's got control, nice feel, and stable. Dunno about free power though...usually that doesn't go hand in hand with control. If you can't demo it's tough because it's all subjective really. You gotta be a player to handle the Prestige though cause it's quite unforgiving.

Yeah, it's a tad too unforgiving which is why I wasn't considering it :)
What are your thoughts on the sticks I listed

How about the new Speed Pro? Though I have not tried the latest version, usually the Speed Pro's offer more control than other 100 sq. in. tweeners. The latest one is supposed to plush and softer feeling.

Also, though the string pattern has widened, the new Pure Drive should be an awesome racket to play with.

Hmm, I actually did really like the Graphene Touch Speed pro when I demo-ed it. Just thought it might have been a bit too muted/dead on impact. Thoughts on how that stacks up to the racquets I mentioned (i.e. Wilson Ultra Tour vs Prokennex Kinetic Ki Q+ Tour Pro (35) vs Prince Textreme Tour 100P vs Angell TC97 (18x20))?

volkl c10 pro

Damnit, I didn't need another stick to consider :p
How would you compare the c10 pro to the other racquets mentioned?

PS: Is that Kevin Anderson in your DP? I had the chance to see him in Wimbledon this time around. Really nice dude!

yes it is. I met him twice. US open 2015 and 2016. And C10 pro. Its very control esq. Thin Beam. Like it a lot

I think C10 might feel a bit heavy to swing. I would suggest either the Ultra Tour or the Textreme Tour 100P if you felt the Speed Pro was too muted. You might even want to demo the previous version of the Speed Pro.

Yeah, I'm of that opinion towards the C10 as well. Can I ask why you've knocked the Prokennex and Angell sticks out of contention?

I have heard lots of great things about Angell. It's just that I don't know my exact preferred specs, yet. I learned tennis by getting used to whatever that was handed to me, so I am still learning about the specs and customization. As far as Pro Kennex goes, the only frame that I played well with was the Black Ace, the original version. I've played with a few Pro Kennex's, but none wowed me, even the heavy PSE something. One thing about Pro Kennedy is that I don't really know which model is supposed to be what. I guess because I haven't really followed their line up too closely. The last Pro Kennex I played was the Q Tour 295 with the Kinetic tenpchnology. It was a nice stick.

I played with the Textreme Tour 100P. It's an awesome stick for sure. However, I preferred the Tour 95, which had more precision and feel.
