Racket switch from Babolat Aero Origin

Hey guys, currently play with the Babolat Pure Aero Rafa Origin, and - although I do like it for a lot of shots - it’s just too much to handle when it matters most.

I was thinking of switching to something like the Babolat Pure Aero 98, after reading so many of the glowing reviews.

Currently use Hyper-G soft.

Happy for any advice! Olly :)

It would help if you gave a bit more information about what specifically worked/didn't work for you with the Origin, your racquet history, fitness, age, playing style, etc. Hard to go wrong with the Pure Aero 98 though, as long as you don't mind the feel.

If you’re liking the Spin that’s on offer, maybe consider one of the older AeroPro Drives seeing as they have the same string spacing (i’m told by esteemed members of this forum) and they’ll come in a bit lighter. I’m currently on a weighted Pure Aero lite (newest model) ~290g unstrung and it’s doing a thing compared to my old APD’s that are leaded up close to Origin spec.

I would look into Babolat Aero Pro Drives - Original uptil 2013 - same string pattern as origin - great feel & very controlled string bed. You can slowly add in the weight.

Former origin user here.

Ezone 98, Rafa 290, PA98 or Sx300 Tour, or Boom Pro are my recommendations.

Personally if you like the raw feel of the Origin, go from the Rafa 290 and mod it as much or little as you need!
