Rackets similar to older Radicals?

I've been wanting to try out some of the older Radicals, especially the LM, since I want to see why so many people like these frames. I wanted to know what plays similar so I can get an idea of how the racket plays compared to the ones I've tried.

My question is: What rackets are closest to older radicals? Maybe an older blade (eg v5), a blade pro, or a modern prestige?

As for now the blade pro H22s are an improved option. Larger head size, constant box beam. More forgiving and solid feel. And you get to choose 18m or 16m.
I have sold all of my old radicals and I never looked back.

gravity pro is based off the old radical
I recently transitioned a 4.5 player to the auxetic gp, he retired his old LM sticks.
he's quite happy.

imo blades in 18x20 are similar to olds radicals, I play with the 18x20 v5 blade and feel similar to the LM Radical MP (the wilson feels slightly heavier), two of my favourite rackets.

Excellent advice! The OP is on a shoestring budget and can't afford a $50 used Radical of the bay, so a $259 Blade Pro Stock seems like a perfect alternative.

Lol. Have you read the op s question at all ? Are you speaking for your own budget ?

On top of it -- calling a Blade Pro the H22 is laughable. The layups are totally different...
Kind of like calling the LM Radical the same as the biggest Nightmare for Alex here ;)

None of the racquets listed/mentioned have much to do with the LM Radical Mid.
Maybe the Microgel version, which is slightly more recent. Both are probably the most sold racquet models on TW in the last 20 years and can be found on the used market.

But to be fair, to some a Hyundai Tiburon feels like a Ferrari and vice-versa.

the Gravity Tour is a lot like old Radicals. the 100" takes some getting adjusted to coming from a true 95" but it's fine. not sure what Head did with the twintube technology but this is what distinguishes the old Radicals the most outside of the true 95" and 18x20 string patterns

Gravity Pro is a 20mm beam, Mg Radical Pro is a tapered beam frame. Both teardrop shape, that is the commonality.
Gravity Pro is purely based on the IG Speed MP (TK263 mold)
you sure? I thought it was a straight 21 mm beam and racquetfinder seems to corroborate my hunch.

which also reminds me, old Radicals had straight and box beams, usually measuring around 21.5 to 22 mm

@MasterSlice74 - In your search, I'd also keep an eye out for YouTek IG frames, as they offer similar stability and power potential, although the IG MP won't hit quite as big a as the LM in stock form (but it will be close).

If you'd consider a true 98, then I'd also say keep an eye out for a Tecnifibre TF40 305 18x20. It will feel a bit more dampened, but overall playability won't be that far off. It may be harder to find one as cheap, however.

Hope some of that helps.

I thought so too but looked at old TW archives and showed that. I don’t remember the details of the TK233
