Racquet Advice/Suggestions

Spatula

Semi-Pro
Hey Everyone! I'm looking for some racquet advice on what else I should demo. I'm a 4.0-4.5 player using a Wilson Prostaff Classic 6.1 since 1995. Strong points of my game are my serve and forehand. I have a well developed 2 handed backhand, am consistent at the net and move well over the court.

I've played my PSC's since 1995 and want to look at new racquets. I've demoed the following so far:

Pure Drive Team Plus
Wilson K Factor KSix-OneX
Head FlexPoint Prestige Midplus
Prince O3 Speedport Tour
Prince O3 Speedport Black

What else would you guys reccommend? My list of other demo's to try includes:

Pure Drive Roddick (and plus)
Wlson K Factor KSixOne 95
Aerodrive Cortex

I'm looking for either an equal weight racquet or something lighter, a headsize of 95-100 sq inches, something with quality power but consistent control (if that makes sense).

So I welcome some opinions and suggestions.

Thanks!

Are you still wanting the 16x18 pattern? What is making you want to change away from the PSC?

To be honest, the 6.1 is a pretty stiff racquet (not Babolat PD stiff, but stiff nonetheless) and staying with the Wilson stuff (KSixOne) may be your best bet if you want to retain the feel.

Honestly, I don't know why anyone who is used to the PS Classic would want to switch. I almost switched TO this racquet over the summer, but the weight was going to be a bit much for my swing. Otherwise, this is the best racquet I've ever hit with. You are probably not going to like any of the racquets you listed (except for the Ksix-one 95) compared to your PS Classic. And, IMO, it has more feel than the Ksix-one.

You might try the Babolat Aeropro Control; out of all the sticks I demoed this one felt the closest to the PS Classic, but it swings heavier and plays stiffer. Not sure you are looking for that. You can also try the Prince O3 Hybrid Tour, which might swing a little lighter and be slightly less stiff. Hard to recommend a racquet to replace the 6.1 Classic. It's one of those sticks like the Head Pro Tour 630/280; there really isn't an equal, or a "similar-but-better" racquet.
