Racquet choice-I love my Head Speed Pro MP 16x19

I started tennis 6 months ago and have been taking lessons. My instructor says I can play with 3-3.5s with no problem (I cant really control my serves though for matches).

I tried a bunch or sticks early on but I didnt know what I was looking for so I went ahead and bought a head speed pro MP 16x19 and strung it to 55lb with pro hurricane tours. I love the stability of the racquet but I dont think I know what else I would love/hate because I dont have much experience. I am just comfortable with that.

I demoed a bunch of racquets and wanted to love the Pure Drive or the Roddick but I didnt. I really liked the aero pro drive gt and I bought one from here. I strung it with the free babolat addiction at 60lb and I HATE that racquet and never use it.

I feel that I am ready for more power and spin so should I go with string changes on what I have or look at a new stick? I always try different ones during lessons but nothing beats out my trusty head SPMP. Is it the string? Tension? Or more?

I tried the 2012 pure drive and roddick. Yesterday I trie dthe Wilson 100 steam and it had power and bite but it wasnt a clear winner over what I had.

Advice?

Stick with your Speed MP. That racquet actually has a good amount of a power and spin. Proper technique is going to give you more power and spin than a change in racquets. Trying new racquets all the time is a bad habit most of us on these forums have, including myself.

Would my apdgt be a better choice? How do these two racquets compare to eachother in terms of power, spin, etc...? I want to define what I am feeling.

Also, what string change will work best for the head? My arm is getting sore.

If your arm is getting sore now I would be leary about going to the Aero Prodrive. It is stiffer than the Speed.
Poly will give you greater spin, but could also cause arm problems. I agree with the suggestion that you work on your strokes. Played a little with the Speed 16X19 and you definitely can get a lot of spin with that racquet if you hit it right.

I went with a 2011 pure drive with rpm blast 17's and the power is amazing. Its strung at 52 though and I have never used 17g. But I am very happy and thats hard to do.
