I'm looking to demo some racquets. I currently use the Pure Storm Tour Gt Plus, which I switched over from the k90. So far, here is my preliminary list.

1) Babolat Aeropro Drive GT
2) Babolat Pure Drive Roddick GT
3) Wilson BLX Tour 90

I can demo four racquets, but I know two people where I can get the Aeropro Drive and Pure Drive to demo for free, so I need four racquets to demo from Tennis Warehouse. I just need suggestions. Here's what I need;

I am a 4.0 all courter, looking for more power and spin from my current racquet (Pure Storm). I swing moderately fast, and would like a racquet heavier than 11 ounce minimum. I use a co - poly full bed. I don't know what else I can add to help you suggest racquets, but if you need more info, please tell me.

As a side note - I have been interested in the past for demoing, the Prince Rebel 95, the Djockovic Racquet, and the new BLX series, and the Tecnifibre Racquets.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks!

I would rather demo one of the blx series, would you suggest 18 x 20 rather than 16x18?

Definitely give a shot to any of the Volkl 10 Racquets..I'm currently demoing the DNX 10 Mid, PB 10 Mid, and C10 Pro, and they all hit like a dream. I only got a few minutes with the PB 10 before the strings broke (lame....but they're giving me free shipping on my next order so its cool) but they're 12+ ox, and I thought they really shined when I went into all-court mode, taking the ball off the rise, getting to the net, etc. The feel on these things is incredible. You gotta do it :) I'm interested to see what you think.

thanks for the suggestion! I'll take a look at them.

The 18 X 20 K6.1 95 was considerably more accurate than the 16 X 18 for me, so I assume the same with the BLX. Obviously the PDRGT and the Aeropro drive GT are totally different animals.

I've found I can get some blx racquets from a friend, so I don't have to include them in the demo. As of now I've concluded

1) Tecnifibre Tflight 325
2) Vokl Power 10
3) Dunlop 4D Aerogel 200
4) ...maybe k88? Head prestige Midplus? need suggestions for a fourth.

thanks!

How about the Dunlop AG300 Tour?

I'd say you'd be smart to try that Rebel 95, since you want power and spin potential. That frame is hefty (yet head-light) and rather soft, so I'd expect it to deliver in both departments. In comparison, I'd bet that Prince's Ignite 95 with its extra stiffness would be great for an avid net rusher, but I've seen a couple solid players around here enjoying it with their all court games.

I'm curious as to why you'd want to try the k88 after switching away from the k90, but it's a demo, not a buy-it-to-try-it scenario, right? Gotta love TW's demo program for helping us racquet junkies to scratch the itch.

I'm a reformed serve and volleyer who plays an all court game now and I've really enjoyed the Volkl C10 for that role. It has a wonderful combo of old school personality and modern performance, plus I'm also really hot to get a demo with their PB 10 mid. That one looks (and sounds) to me like it would have the all court performance that I like, yet with a smaller hoop that I prefer. One note on the C10: we seem to agree on these boards that it's a very string sensitive racquet.

Thanks for your post! The chance of me actually buying a k88 is very, very low. I can't help but want to try it though. very enticing! I have heard that the c10 is a very string sensitive racquet, and what I might do is ask around to see if anybody can let me try it out, so I won't have to play with the junk strings the demo's come with.

Thanks for your input!

If you want more spin, you also have to try Yonex RDiS100, Mid, or MP.
I just switched to the RDiS100 mid from Prestige Microgel MP, and I just love the Yonex. I can get more spin, more power and better feel. It is a stiff racquet, but when you hit the sweetspot it just feels great!

I've tried a couple yonex's and hated them all, but I may look into this one..thanks!

You might also consider the Yonex RDiS 200 (if you can stomach the paintjob) It is comparable to the ProKennex Black Ace 98 (link included below), Wilson BLX Pro Tour and Yonex RDis 100. Specs: 98 Sq Inches, 11.7 oz strung, 16x19 pattern, 326 SW, and 61 Flex (very arm friendly).

The RDiS 200 paintjob is rough on the eyes. I wonder if Yonex ever considered this color really does look like a case of bad diarrhea? Why on earth Head makes the Instinct in a similar color when there are at least a few thousand other colors on a a color wheel makes me wonder. Heck, I would be happy to design a color scheme for some of these companies that might even sell them a few more sticks. Head, Yonex, you reading this??? Yes, I am serious, I don't want to look at my racquet and think "Damn, it looks like a piece of ****" "

I love the Black Ace 98, but am waiting to hit the Yonex 200 RDiS and Black Ace 98 during the same session.

I appreciate the time you took to write that!

The Yonex color is hideous, but I'll take a look at it. I have heard from a couple friends it is a good stick, so I'll see if I can try it out from them. I have tried the pro kennex and didn't like it that much, but thanks for the suggestion. Wilson pro tour I haven't tried, and was looking into it in the first place, so I'll probably demo it, thanks! And the yonex rds 100 I've tried and didn't like, but thanks!
