I have a Wilson Hyper Hammer 5.3 Stretch OS which I am using now when I played doubles and now I am playing singles and I need a good baseliner stick. I need something that would give me good spin, be good on volleys and on serve. Any Suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

Keep your current racquet and spend the $200 on lessons.

The previous model of Babolat Pure Drive is marked down with the new model out. That is probably the place to start with demos for "baseline" sticks.

Then you can branch out based on how other brands versions compare to it.
Wilson Juice and Burn
Head Extreme
Yonex AI 100
Prince Warrior
Etc...

Thanks!:) I was thinking about demoing the Wilson burn 100s but I heard that the spin effect racquets are not good at the net. Is that true?

I've never tried any of the crazy string pattern racquets. In high school I used a Prince Graphite II which was 14x18, and I was fine with it in doubles. It is not anywhere near as accurate as my current 18x19, 16x20 and 18x20 sticks.

The only way to find out what works for you is to try them.

What sticks are you using? Are any of them good serve and volley sticks?

The hyper hammer is too powerful and I want a heavier racquet with more spin.

I don't know how much your Wilson weighs, but if you want less power in a heavier frame, you should consider trying some options with a good deal of flex. Wilson doesn't have too much to offer these days among the softer crop of racquets available out there, but the Pro Staff 95 could be one to try given its flex rating of 62.

I've been loving my Volkl O10 325g's for about two years now and they're better for me than anything in the Wilson lineup - I haven't tried the PS or RF 97 yet, but I'm not in the market for fresh gear. My O10's are tuned with some lead tape for both the stability and balance I like in my frames. You may consider a little tuning of your own if you come across something that's close to what you're looking for.

So the Volkl 10 325g has been replaced with the current Super G 10 line. If those are too heavy for you, definitely get a look at the O10 295g, which is on sale at TW right now. This is an easy platform to tune into a setup you might like. Other frames with a combo of some heft and some flex include the Head Prestiges, Pacific X Force Pro, Prince Classic Graphite 100 and Tour 100... The TW demo program gives you the keys to the candy store.

I forgot to mention that my Volkls give me fantastic spin potential and I string them with 16 or 17 ga. synthetic gut - nothing exotic. Great hitters!!

I use the Tecnifibre Tfight 325. It is awesome for serve and volley. 18x19 string pattern.

I also sometimes play with a Yonex Vcore 98d which is great from the baseline, and volleys really well. However it is too light for my serve. 16x20 string pattern.

Before the Tecnifibre I was using a Prince Tour 100. It is great from the baseline. It volleys pretty well, but it twists in your hand if you don't really stick the sweet spot. Serves okay. 18x20 string pattern.

The Tecnifibre Tfights come in a bunch of weights, a few string patterns and a couple head sizes. It will be a huge departure from a Hammer. With the Tfight you will have to swing away from the baseline because they are really low power.
