I want to ask for suggestion about replacing my current Yonex R10 with current racquet in the market which have same characteristic of the racquet, with little lighter in weight for more maneuverability would be nice.
The story is :
I’ve started to learn tennis with Yonex R-37. And I started to play tennis again in the last 4 years with Youtek Radical Pro and Youtek Radical MP, and strangely both racquets hurt my elbow (I bought them since I’ve read they can be considered elbow friendly racquets).
The first time I played again after 6 years not actively playing tennis (which is 4 years ago) I bought Youtek Radical Pro, I don’t know whether it’s the way I swung or my technique is not mature yet, but this racquet has develop an elbow for me, so I changed it to Youtek Radical MP (YRMP).
After changing to YRMP, the elbow pain is still exist but its better than using the Radical Pro, maybe its just because from previous pain from Radical Pro I don't know, but I can’t play more than 2 times week due to elbow pain and sore shoulder recovery everytime I play with the racquet.
And then I bought a vintage Yonex R-10 from a club player here and started to play with it, I’ve been play with the racquet in the last 2 months, and it dramatically make my elbow better. I still feel a little elbow pain after playing but its really is much much better than previous racquet and I can play 2 days in a row now with this racquet since the elbow pain is not troubling me much now.
I really don’t know what caused it, is it just my technique, the racket weight, flex, balance, string pattern or what. My primary concern is that since the racquet is quite old, I wonder if there is current racquet now that could represent the Yonex R-10 characteristic in the market nowadays.
Sorry for the long explanation
, so you guys could get a clearer picture of my profile. Btw I am at NTRP 3.5-4
Any input would be valuable for me.
