Racquet purchase stringing delay

Still waiting on my Pure Strike I purchased last week...the status hasn't moved since Tuesday.
How accurate is the 7 day string delay? My buddy bought his elsewhere and it was shipped within 2 days.

If you are ordering from TW right now, you should order the racquet unstrung and then have it strung locally when it arrives. Much faster.
Yes, in hindsight I realized this. I just usually order them strung because I like the advantages of it but I see your point

Of course, if you are going to do that, you could just buy the racquet from your local store too and not have to wait for it to be shipped.
If there was a local store...tennis isn't prevelant here although ******* is about 45 minutes north from here but I wanted to try tennis warehouse

Ordered an unstrung DB26 on 9-4 and it shipped 9-10. Needless to say I was not real pleased with taking that long to ship an unstrung racquet.
Well that blows the order unstrung and get faster theory out the window. This is my first TW purchase and I’m not too impressed with the delay. I mean you sell and string sticks for a living....?

To be fair, I’ve ordered both strung and unstrung racquets from MWsports recently and they’ve been taking quite a bit longer than usual as well.

Maybe they've all laid off so many stringers because of this virus and now people are out and playing (I never stopped)
and the skeleton crew can't handle the load??

Patience is a bigger virtue during Covid. Drive 45 mins to a local store if you can for a frame, shoes, stringing quickly. The local business would appreciate your patronage.

Hate to break the news to anyone but it isn't just TW. TW has made the announcement about shipping delays so I was aware of the delay before I ordered this week.

I placed three orders roughly $100 at three large online companies for grommets early this week. None have shipped. They get to me when they get to me. I don't expect anything quickly in 2020 / 2021.

My local store is TE. They did seem to get my racquet here a bit faster than MW. Good luck trying to get anyone on the phone there though. I was able to finally speak to what sounded like a manager and she told me their call/order volume was about 4 times what it was prior to the shutdown so they are constantly slammed.

I have noticed a lot of new people showing up at my local court over the last 6 months as well. I'm guessing with tennis being a relatively low Covid risk activity it's causing more people to pick it up which is leading to more volume for tennis shops.

I’ve actually had several people order their racquet unstrung and bring me their strings to get it strung up the same day. The tennis bug this summer has been crazy. Nearly full courts almost every single day.

If there is a delay in shipping unstrung racquets too, TW needs to make that clear. They say there is a delay for strung racquets, not unstrung. I thought this was due to staffing issues, but maybe not.

It was that way here during the spring but quickly dropped when the temp rose above 80. It’s back to normal, empty courts with occasional appearances by addicts like myself

Unfortunately my gift certificate from kid was TW not MW which is 45 minutes away

I live a few miles from the TW in Georgia. Every time I’m there they have about a dozen stringers going non-stop. It’s an impressive setup they have. Would have to assume they have a bigger setup in Cali.

I believe I heard the California branch is closed. Now I'm not sure if they meant the store or the entire facility

I have made two orders recently with tw. The first one took almost 3 weeks. I was not too happy. I emailed them and they offered me a $20 credit and I was pleased. But my last order about a month ago was a week. I just placed another order last night and now I am worried reading this thread.

Mine was going on 10 days (total, not business) so I cancelled it and ordered it through tw main competitor. It got shipped out, strung, within 24 hours.

Most of NorCal is suffering from the fire ash dust in the air for the last 3-4 weeks. Look at the national news headlines. IT IS BAD. If you do not have to go outside, the medics say do not.

Amazing, OP... you enjoy this site that is sponsored and funded by TW and we are in the midst of a pandemic that is deadly for so many of us. All warehouses in the US, especially in particularly heavy virus areas, are under staffing pressures - for the workers' sake. Amazing ... try reading a valid news resource, and TW does note the "delay problems."
Two of our young friends have acquaintances who now have debilitating health conditions - collapsed lungs at a young age. So many more are dead and affected... If you and your loved ones have not been affected, then count your lucky stars and think and take a deep breath. We have a pandemic, in full swing...
So, your racquet is delayed... and then you complain on the TW site? Imo, read, think and wake up...

I think both stores are open. But staffing is an issue especially in an enclosed building. Medics also say you should change the air inside a building 3-6 times an hour, but with bad AQ, this is not a good idea.

All racquets are being screened for coronavirus before being shipped out

Seems like a general delay on all the orders from TW. Ordered a Ezone tour and it took about 2 weeks to ship. I got bugged and ordered a second one from a competitor a week later and both the rackets arrived the same day.

Well I received my order and I personally did a covid scan using my covid sniffing dog and he seemed it Covid free.
Not sure what a covid scan is but if think spraying it lysol would suffice.
Thanks TW for expediting it

Lol, kidding . I don’t think the virus could live on the racquet for two weeks through the mail anyways.

I put an order with TW recently. Non-racquet stuff shipped from SLO Warehouse the next day and delivered to me the day after.
Racquet (used, unstrung) shipped from GA Warehouse after 3 business days and UPS delivered 2 days later.

Obviously little slower than typical TW but I would cut them some slack from years of great service.
