Racquet Recommendations?

revelation

New User
I'm looking to get back into the game after a rather lengthy layoff. How lengthy? My #1 racquet is still the Prince Thunderbolt I used in High School.

I'm a topspin heavy baseliner--probably a 3.0-3.5 right now since I'm fairly out of practice (I've only been playing 5-6 times per year) but more like a 4.0-4.5 when I'm completely on my game.

I can generate my own power, would prefer a racquet that's spin/control friendly (without completely sapping all the pop out of my game).

I really like the midplus headsize of the Thunderbolt.

Anyone have a racquet recommendation for me to get back into the game? Would especially love it if i could find something under $100 (new or used) that could serve me well for quite a while. Need more info? Just ask--this is all still coming back to me, so I'm sure I left out some important stuff.

Hi mate,

If you go to the TW home page and scroll down to the sale racquets section, that should be a good place to start...as for reccomendations in comparison with the old thunderbolts...pass. lol
Was browsing the sale pages, maybe the Prince O3 Speedport Black Long Body Racquets for $99.95...?

Hope I helped.

Thanks for the help! Definitely not looking for something comparable to the old Thunderbolt--it worked well 10 years ago, but I'd like to find something a bit better now :)

As for that Dunlop, how would that compare with an older M-Fil 300? I've heard good things about both rackets, and there's a used M-Fil for sale locally.

It is the newer model of the M-fil...
The same basic stick with new technology, ofcourse it will play differently to the aerogel, but it's more or less the same...

Good luck.
