Hi all,

i have been out of the game for almost two years due to back issues. Thinking i would never play again because of the troubles i went through i sold all my sticks. Now i feel better so i might give tennis another change but i don't really know what new and old racquets are out there worth a demo today.
I'm a baseline player 2hbh and my last racquet was the graphene pro.
However, i'm looking for something around the 11.3 16x19 oz strung, decent control, some feel, stable, medium power, quick and decent plow through.
I'm also selling some old racquets so i can buy hopefully the new/used ones.
Thank you all!

Graphene radical? Speed?

I might suggest the prince warrior/beast series, Babolat Pure Strike (don’t know too much about these), or Yonex EZONE 98/100 (headsize up to you). Haven’t really tried the newer Wilson/Head racquets so can’t say much there.

What were you using before? If they worked well for you, maybe you should just buy the same racquet again?

You could try a Wilson Blade 16x19. Same string pattern, and around 11.3oz.

right good one! thanks DanS.
I would not mind also to try the babolat pure strike or pure drive but i have no idea which of the models are better.
Any yonex?
Thanks

The Radical Pro is more of a control frame like the Blade, so I would try the Pure Strike 16x19. It's more similar to what you are used to, and it's not anywhere near as stiff as the Pure Drive. You don't want your arm falling off after a 3 set match! lol

16x19 pure strike is quite good. If you decide to demo I would put in RPM blast at low 50s tension or maybe lux alu power same tension.

I don't know about the 16x19 blade but the last two generation of 18x20's are not very good. Demo the blade tho to see if you like it.

I would also try your old radical pro with head hawk string in it. A friend of mine let me try her radical mp with silver head hawk and it's one of the best racket set ups I have experienced to date.

Pure drive is also quite good with luxilon alu power, and the last gen pure drive is on sale right now. The pure drive also works super well with silver head hawk, and a solinco tour bite NRG^2 hybrid combo(do NOT hybrid with black NRG, idk why, but it is way worse than the natural color NRG).

I haven't tried the pure aero with the above pure drive string setups, but it works well the solinco hyper g and with lux alu power, although hyper G might be too stiff if you're looking for something soft. (RPM blast works well but playability dies way before the strings break idk why)

That being said I have heard pure aero plus is better than the regular pure aero.

I have never played yonex but have heard good things about the dr 98 and the SV line with yonex/solinco strings in them.

You also might wanna try the prostaff 97, head prestige, and the wilson ultra, although I cannot vouch for these rackets as I have never hit with them.

Yonex DR98 Light - add lead as needed to get your preferred plow-vs-quickness balance.

Thanks DanS! what pure strike though? I mean the year ot model....there are so many like the black and red, the white I believe to versions.
As now I'm not even thinking to play matches or serve, I would be happy if I could just hit decently! :)

I would try the newer white version of the Pure Strike (Also known as the Project One 7). The black and red version did not seem to be well liked anywhere.

Yonex DR98 (light if needed as above). Prince Phantom 100 / p100 / p100p, sure you can get a lower static weight if you asked. Ports will swing easy and feel lighter, should help minimise any negative aspects with its low RA, it may be the best option if trying to nurse an injury.
