hi guys, i have been using prestige classic 600 since day 1 i've been playing tennis.. however having gone through alot of them, i am on my last pair of pc600 now.. i know they're still available and all but they're getting very expensive these days and i'm looking for a replacement..

i have heard that the innegra prestige mid is very similar to prestige classic 600.. however since this would be the day that i switch racquet from pc600 anyway.. im willing to explore other brands and models that play very similar to pc600..

i have tried customized bosworth (in 90 head) - blacked out as i've posted before.. and even then the racquet plays very differently to pc600.. tried intelligence, liquidmetal upto youtek version of prestige mid also can't find any similarities at all to the pc600..

my question would be what would be the most similar (in term's of buttery and softness, light swingweight and solidness) racquet to the pc600? im curious about volkl powerbridge 10, pro kennex redondo mid and also maybe even the classics like yonex rx-32 and yonex rx-37?

i don't mind if anyone can chime in also in racquets they think play better than the pc600.. but u know ofc it has to be affordable.. preferably under 150$ :D thanks guys

Yeah the IG Prestige Mid, get it before it goes out of stock. It's being discontinued, the whole Prestige Mid lineup.

stiffer feeling, won't be what you're looking for.

Altought it´s not quite the same(Feel) the Microgel\YouTek Prestige mid are a always a good option( never tried the IG Mid) with a litlle customization( leather grip and adjust balance).

The new Angell 90 seems a good alternative.

If you are willing to try a 95 i recomend the Dunlop Muscle Weave 200G in terms of feel\touch and it´s easy to play since it has the old school classic feel of the PC600.

I forgot about the Dunlop MW 200G that's also a nice alternative.

Have you noticed that Prestiges get thicker beams as they progress through the lineage? My classics feel the thinnest while the IGs feel the fattest. Microgel is in between.

? :? I'd get it if we're discussing (the abomination called) the Rev Pro, but the IG has the same beam thickness as the previous iterations I'm sure…

When I have purchased used from TW they have put a new grip on the racquet before it ships. It isn't always the stock grip, but it has been from the correct brand.

All are 19mm wide and feel the same width to me.

Yes, agreed. Pretty much every time I've ordered used from TW it has come with a new grip.

I use this approach to do extended 2-3 week demos pretty frequently, well worth it for the cost of strings. Also, you get to demo with your preferred choice of string set up rather than with something you hate.

Good choices here. Look in the TW Classifieds once the OP makes his/her decision. There's a lot of traffic there.

vsBab,

I tried both and agree with you that the IG feels much nicer.

To me IG feels stiffer than the original but has that solid thick feel to it.

To me the YT feels muted in a way I don't care for.

Do you mind sharing 2-3 of your favorite string setups for the pc600 please ?

Thanks
