Radical Mp 2021 String Suggestions

Hello!

Just switched from Vcore 98 Galaxy Black (2019) to the new Head Radical Mp (2021).I tried out the radical and enjoyed the enhanced control I got out of it.

FWIW, I live in a high altitude city (8,500 ft) and the name of the game here is spin and keep the ball in the court. In higher altitudes every damn ball has a huge risk of hitting the back fence. I felt the radical has a lower launch angle compared to the vcore 98.

I strung all of my vcores with alu power rough at 54lbs. It worked pretty well but i felt it was a bit overpowered, ironically.

Im not too sure which route i should go to regarding the new radical. Im thinking of head lynx tour, or maybe just sticking to alu power rough.

Im looking for a poly that favors spin and control over power. Power is not an issue for me as i gan generate enough pace usually and since theres less oxygen here, the game is fast and balls tend to fly rather than hit the net.

Any suggestions?

I'd say Solinco confidential or Tour Bite. I just got the Radical MP too and there's less spin than the Vcore 98 so you might want a shaped poly.

I just strung mine with Toroline Caviar mains and Isospeed Cream crosses at 55. Feels a little stiffer than I would like, but has great spin and reasonable control. Also looks outstanding.

Cyclone 18L
Gets you that spin back, makes it a little more head light.
Edit. Tension for me with this setup, 52/51 or even 51/50.

Good luck. It’s a nice frame.

Kirschbaum Max Power or anything in their pre stretched family. SPPP or SPP Hextreme could also be used.

launch angle control is also my thing. If you want to control it you should be thinking string gauge, not string brand....here you can check my findings with over 38 strings:

I play with open pattern racquet but my picture in my head of the ball trajectory is more suitable to 18x20 pattern racquets. However I prefer to have that little more spin potential. So I want to keep the spin potential but match the launch angle with the one I am picturing in my head before I strike :)
Tennis is a mental game hah !

Very interesting findings, im curious as to which gauge suits my needs best? Should i go thicker strings for more control and lower launch angle?
