She has shown a great character, skill and talent that all were assembled and timed for the USO perfectly by her and her team. Breaking the winning team means losing some winning ingredients; spending too much time with sponsors and media translates to losing focus and prep time.

She doesn’t have a team. She has never had a full time traveling coach.

Do you mean the guy she worked with for 1 month before her us open win?

If he can do that in 1 month I wouldn’t worry about him, he will have every player on tour clamouring for his services if that is in fact what happened.

yeah, but see, she lost a match, so in all practical terms her career is over now. now we can all bask in the postmortems about the hubris of going coachless and the perils of social media.

How touching it is that you have all these noble men willing and eager to save a woman (who has already achieved more than they ever will in their lives) from herself!

Without those "noble men" that have helped her progress into the USO championship, we would not know who Emma Raducanu is today.

Concern trolling is what you have spammed your own Raducanu news thread with your non stop hand wringing about what she should do and hasn't done. Since she is looking for a coach, why don't you sign up? You seem to know better than Raducanu herself what's best for her.

You tell me, who did she thank and what did she say exactly? Surely you know since you claim they ‘assembled’ her.

Just how big an entourage do you think someone ranked 150 and playing qualifiers usually travels with?

Looks like you have not seen the end of the USO final when the female security guard helped Emma through the crowd in stands to say thank you to her people in that one section there. When I say "people" I mean a few of them; don't know how many "Emma guys" where there but looked like at least 3 which would make it a team, would it not? :)

Ohh, not every coach asks for a ton of money; so, those guys with Emma in NY may have been there for an honest reason; more honest than just the money.

Good, so the various idiots here can't accuse her of not being gracious.
...
Really, what is wrong with people (rhetorical).
She just graduated from HS, and from every sentence uttered, she seems to have taken her studies quite seriously.
Obviously, she's a very gifted player as well. She gave us one of the great sports moments of the year, and has handled everything incredibly well. Almost unbelievably well.
How do you know what her arrangement was with Richardson, or what they're now both looking to do moving forward?
I'm sure they also did not anticipate that level of success so soon. She just joined the tour.

As for her IW loss, that happens, and she'll have many more defeats to learn from. She's far from a finished product, as preternaturally polished as she was during the USO.

Lastly, did you listen to how maturely she handled her post-match (loss) presser?
I don't know where this alleged quote was taken from - as I know nothing about that site.
Show us a video of her saying that. I'm sure that the OP -- who couldn't even spell the words of her quote correctly - is also a reliable source.

Yeah but she's 18 and she won the USO. Life is all about risks. Some pay off and some don't. Maybe she'll get a good coach very soon. I'm sure British tennis will be keen to see her succeed and lots of coaches want to coach her.

Emma I give a pass to, given her opponent Sasnovich continues to roll beating Halep and move on to face Azarenka! I was to critical of her and I guess I forgot that in tennis, anyone can win! That why tennis is a pure sport!

Emma does not need a coach immediately and should not be pressure to hire one immediately and then ending up have a more serious problems of having to get rid of the coach if it does not work out! Emma take your sweet time and do it right!

So you don’t know what was said at all as I suspected.

It couldn’t possibly be that a few extra people she knows came to watch her in the US open final, right? All those people must be her sizeable ‘team’ who ‘assembled’ her as you put it, and obviously deserve all the credit for her win

There’s a big difference between thanking someone for coaching them for a month, and crediting them with ‘assembling’ their game. I know that might be a difficult concept to grasp, but not all coaching arrangements are all encompassing over many many years. Sometimes there are just short stop gap arrangements

Maybe but theres nothing wrong with commenting on it either.

There seems to be a lot of "yes men/women" here too that basically think everything is a good thing.

If Raducanu parts with her coach - excellent. If Raducanu stayed with her coach - excellent. If Raducanu parted with her coach then changed her mind and got back with him - excellent.

What this means is that there are also those who simply "support" no matter what someone does, and dont really have an original thought of their own.

NO, all that I or accidental (or RaulRamirez) are saying is that one loss, especially with it being her first tournament after US Open and in much slower conditions, is really nothing to go by. Now you tell me what is even slightly controversial about what I have said here. Nothing. It's just that you and Mr Visionary are so hungry for vindication that you want to pounce on anything you might be able to treat as evidence. So hungry in fact that you completely gloss over her opponent going on to beat Halep. On her day, Sasnovich is a much better player than her rankings and has beaten Kvitova at Wimbledon. But none of that matters because the narrative that Raducanu has completely lost her way already is so much more compelling, is it not?

So...could it still be a 'bad' decision to have parted ways with the same Andrew Richardson who had said during the USO itself that he would not be able to continue? Maybe. But we just don't know that yet. And further, as has been repeatedly pointed out and to no avail, he only came back for the summer in the US leading up to US Open. So if you think she lost only because he is no longer by her side, you are attributing way too much credit to him. And by the way, she wasn't exactly coachless at IW either. She had Jeremy Bates courtside at IW. If you think he is an old fogey with no clue about IW, that isn't as much different as you may think from Richardson who has probably never been to IW either (and by the way, Bates has actually played pro tennis including at the slams and has been coaching since 2007). If it is true that she is going to sign up Carlos Rodriguez, then she has lived up to her goal with the original decision - of finding an experienced coach.

There will be plenty of time to debate whether Raducanu through a string of bad decisions completely nixed her potential and will end up with nothing more to show than her US Open triumph. But that time isn't now, immediately after her Indian Wells loss. Unless you think one single setback alone can have such a powerful impact in tennis, in which case I question what you know about the game itself. Were you there when Fed had an underwhelming US Open series after winning Wimbledon in 2003? Sharapova too lost in the third round at the US Open in 2004 after winning Wimbledon (and she beat way bigger players than Raducanu for her title).

This is tennis and whether you like it or not, it simply doesn't move at the speed of a political news cycle. You and her partner in hand-wringing are willing it to be and in the process, those of us simply asking you to be patient look like yes-men to you. Well, so be it, if that's what you want to believe or if that's what it takes to earn that tag on TT.

Her entourage was always going to be above and beyond what you are asking about.

Egoistic? That would be the one who dismissed Raul Ramirez's thoughtfully composed post as a damage control attempt. If that's what you got out of all that he wrote, speaks volumes about your intellect.

I have only said we will know in due course whether her parting ways with Richardson was a bad decision. I have not even said it cannot possibly be bad. I am only saying "we don't know yet". Which is true. And you resist it again and again with all your might because you have convinced yourself that you have some magical soothsaying capabilities. But just because you got it right with calling Raducanu's ascent doesn't mean you will be right about EVERYTHING. So be a wise man and book your profits when you have the chance. That is, quit while you're ahead.

Because that's a very simple one to one way to look at things, she also split with Nigel Sears after making the 4th round in her first slam, you could make this exact comment a couple months back and it'd be just as useless as it is now.

And regardless of whether he's a good coach or not, it's in her best interest to part ways with him. He only wanted to partner with her for the US run because he wanted to coach his son, but now that she has won it he wants to coach her full time? People like this are snakes, you gotta cut them out of your lives if you have the ability to.

Now, like you just said, can we get back to Raducanu's experienced coaches' search thread with focus on the topic and respect for not only each other but all users whether they are fake or not? Most importantly though, could we respect the opinions of others on the board and confront them with more considerations than we have so far (on the last couple thread related to Emma)?

Well, if you have noticed, I didn't even take your nonsensical baits in the other thread. So maybe have a good look at yourself. You seem to be rather anxious that I shouldn't come on strongly when I disagree with you and I cannot guarantee that. It takes two hands to clap so if you dismiss a thoughtfully constructed comment out of hand as if you are Bollietteri's son, kindly do expect pushback against it. How nasty it gets or not depends on you as well. I have been here a long time and I can count on the fingers of one hand how many posters I have had a problem with. So chew on that for a bit and maybe don't take your username so seriously. One is not required to be a visionary to participate in talk tennis so spare us the hot takes and keep calm.
