Radwanska was the David Ferrer of the WTA

Pheasant

Legend
Radwanska had a much better career than I realized. She reminded a little bit of Ferrer. She didn't have the big serve or the firepower to get her to a slam title. But her career was quite good. I'd say that she got the most out of her ability; kind of like Ferrer

Here are some of her stats:
542-248, .686 overall record
49-87, .360 vs top-10
20 career titles
5 career Masters titles
1 year-end title
1 slam final
5 slam semis
12 slam quarters
4 years YE top-5
8 years YE top-10

David Ferrer's stats:
734-377, .661 overall record
54-123, .305 vs top-10
27 career titles
1 Masters title
1 slam final
6 slam semis
17 slam quarters
4 years YE top-5
7 years YE top-10

Their game styles weren't similar for me. Loved how Radwanska truly showed how a deft touch, angles and spins can be successful in an era of women's tennis defined by ball striking power. Loved seeing the contrast of styles whenever she would play Venus, Serena, Sharapova, etc

Ferrer had much more explosiveness to his ground strokes than Radwanska, and could run around the court for days it seemed

I enjoyed watching Radwanska, with her guile, ability to mix up loopy backhand slices, with low biting ones that cleared the net, her cat and mouse style, variety etc. It was very nice to have a player with a different style like that on the tour, let alone spending so many time in the top 5 / 10, winning so many titles, reaching so many grand slam quarter-finals etc.

Ferrer's return of serve and inside out forehand were excellent, as of course was his defence. For whatever reason, despite the fact that I neither supported or disliked either player, I seemed to find it enjoyable watching him beat Almagro time after time, including numerous times from the brink of defeat.
