Rafa fans: Chill and have some faith in your guy

Yes I am a Fed fan first, but I am a Rafa fan too.

I am sick and tired of hearing how Rafa is old, mentally weak, a shell of himself, and so on. He has lost one set up to this point playing his B- game. He has about three to four more levels he can raise his game to if needed.

Have some faith and some loyalty in Rafa. I dont see Djoker fans doing this.

Can you imagine if Rafa read some of this from his supposed fans? It is ridiculous.

How can Rafa be TIGER if he is always going to lose to nobodies and has nothing left? How bad must his competition be? If you are going to rip Rafa as his fan, I dont want to see you celebrate when he becomes TIGER.

That's the thing about big 3 (well mainly Djokovic and Nadal these days). They are like the bosses on the final level of a video game, who morph into stronger and stronger versions the more you beat them. Musetti was probably confused why Djokovic was 2-0 down and started playing such amazing tennis. It was because he was playing his D game in the first 2 sets. He had about 6 extra levels to go through before he played his best tennis.

Shouldnt the fans know this by now though?

If supporting Rafa Nadal was like holding a stock, almost all of his fans would sell at the first 5% dip.

The pants-wetting on here when you know your guy is 100-2 at RG is actually pathetic. Most of you are grown adults too. It's pretty sad, and I don't see it from any other fanbase.

The truly annoying part isn't that it's the same fabricated drama round after round after round. The truly annoying part is that then they have to climb onto TTW and spew thread after thread of the same nonsense.

I'm specifically in General Pro Player during Nadal matches to AVOID Nadal fans. Ya'll should be glued to your TVs wringing your hands and sweating bullets about Nadal's serve getting broken. Or at least in the match thread in Pro Match Results. But nooooo, you gotta come in here mid-match with your hair-on-fire b u l l s h i t, and cry here, too.

Ummm....way to generalise OP. I'm a Rafa fan, and I don't panic or lose any sleep over him losing a set to a historically tough match- up for him in Diego (who snapped Rafa's last consecutive sets won streak at RG). I fully believe Nadal is winning his 21st slam on Sunday, and no one can stop him

Take a look around, look at the threads and match threads, it is clear it is not just a few fans...

At least Nadal fans can’t brag their guy won the tournament without losing a set....WE HAVE SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE
In hindsight I'm glad about this, because now Novak/Tsits/Zed won't have the pleasure of taking that first set off of him. Of course hoping he beats whoever stands in his way

I get what you’re saying, OP - but personally I appreciate that most Nadal fans have some humility. Unlike Novak Djokovic fans, who constantly scream about how he’s GOAT when two men have more slams than him.

Fed fans need to be quiet. They were proclaiming him the GOAT when he had 4 slams.

Incorrect. They were saying it was inevitable he would become GOAT - and he did.

Isn’t that what some Novak fans are doing now as well? If he gets the slam count outright in ~2 years they’ll be just as correct.

Personally thought it was arrogant of some Fedfans then towards Sampras, just as it is now.

Nadal fans tend to be more handwringing, worry warts, but spend less time beating their chest.

I’m a big Sampras fan, so I get your point.

What I would say is that it’s by no means inevitable that the Serb shall become GOAT.

And the Nadal fans claim Fed are handwringers. The match thread against Diego was comedy gold in terms of giving up on their guy.

The problem I think here is that Rafa has put this aura of invincibility around himself at the FO and we fans have also subjected ourselves to that aura. While I think it would be amazing for him to never lose at the FO again, but we have to be realists and understand that all it takes is one day not be on your game at age 35 and it'll come crashing down. I personally feel Rafa is still good enough to win this year, but I am having trouble convincing myself that he will do it next year.
