Rafa is Epic

I thought Tignor said it very well in his article about the match today - Rafa may be great on clay, but it's not because he's a clay court specialist - he's a clay court artist. Some fail to see the beauty in his work, and that's OK. Genius is not appreciated by everyone. For those of us who do enjoy it, it is a pleasure to behold. I really care not if Rafa is THE GOAT - he is definitely one of the GOATs. There's not a single statistic anyone can post that disproves that. I happily give Federer the nod for THE GOAT status. Dude has 20 slams and all the rest of it, and probably the most graceful game we've ever seen. But Rafa is also just amazing, and more my style, for whatever reason.

Epic effort in non-clay events. Remove the clay and you are left with 6 slams and 8 M1000 events - I mean, that is 1 slam short of Johnny Mac's entire career achievements and on par with Becker and Edberg.

That poster is just trying to paint Rafa a pure clay court specialist. He knows each title Rafa has won. More obsessed with Rafa than most Rafa fans.

lol - so right. Only on here does utter domination on one surface and excellent results on the other two = a weakness in the player's resume

Clay season really makes Nadal fans cocky :D

I said potential, not definate. He won it last year so it is not unreasonable to think that he is a decent chance of doing it again - it is a two horse race basically and Fed and / or Nadal's health could let them down at anytime like it did for both last season.

Zverev will be in the mix.

Without a doubt one of the greatest in all of sport. His will to win, athletic ability, mental strength is inspiring no matter what your personal feelings for him maybe. Rafa has helped the game grow, given us numerous iconic moments and without him, Federer and Djokovic probably would not be what they are today IMO.
