The headband/bandana worked great when Nadal had the really long locks. But with age and maturity, changing it up wouldn't be a bad idea. I guess his clothing sponsor has a say in it though.

I didn’t like the bandana back then so much either. But I don’t really like it on any player. I do understand they use it for practical reasons! Rafa looks the best to me when he practices in cotton singlet in calm classic colour, and a cap! Not a big fan of a lot of patterns and shiny fabrics.

Nadal perspires a lot so the bandana is definitely very necessary for him to alleviate the sweat from getting into his eyes during rallies. For other players like Dimitrov, the bandana looks really odd.

I don’t like it on Federer, Fabio etc either. But I guess they wouldn’t wore it if they didn’t need to.

Very nice. But i think you exaggarate it too much, and in fact, you are confused. Doubles players use different signs to signal their partner about the tactic they are going to choose for the next point. And this is what we can observe in the picture.

In baseball using the middle finger sign means the pitcher should try to hit the batter so maybe that was a signal to bean somebody:).

LOL. Funny how some will read that as salty, just because Nadal seems so intense most the time, but that is brilliant humor from Rafa actually. I remember when Raf had Fed coming to one of his events he joked about Fed not beating him again or he wouldn't be invited. Too funny!
